🏈 Southern Pigskin Top 12

They are practically returning their entire team this season. Who would you suggest from the ACC should be the best team?

How about no one. They return most of their D, but I understand they have some rebuilding on offense. Since FSU slipped the ACC hasn't really had anyone worth national mention. Was it three years ago that Va Tech was highly ranked, went to LSU to start the season and got embarassed?

something +1...

i'm just saying i'm not gonna throw stones at VaTech for losing against LSU and judging where they should be in rankings, especially based on how they showed up 4 years ago. This stupid poll/ranking was all based on SEC and ACC.

I for one hope we can use the Utah game as fire all year never get caught like that again.

I was disappointed in that game big time (as I know what it's like to be an O'SuckEye State or Chokelahoma fan).

I meant no disresrespect to you, planomateo, just the ACC. It seemed like the whole conference went 7-5 and got some kind of bowl bid, usually losing. I respect Coach Beamer, and think his D and special teams will give a good account of themselves this September. I just don't see how the pre season guys think a team that was hardly a stand out last year in a league that was mediocre should be a Top 5 (SI poll) team. I know they have to write something this time of the year, and not many folks in January are going to pull out SI's April Top 25 and see how they did.

Don't throw things at me, but I question them putting Utah in the top 25 as well. I certainly don't enjoy thinking back on the Sugar Bowl and what they did to us, but their own fans were saying in the post game discussion that this would be a rebuilding year, with key losses in their secondary and having to find a new QB.
