This is nothing TOO bad. And it's definitely a 1st-world problem. But sometimes life does suck the big one.

I have to have my windshield replaced; not a chance of repairing it, it needs to be replaced. The cost to replace it is a little under $325 + labor and taxes. I could claim it on my insurance, but my deductible is $500. Sure $325 is less than $500, but with the labor and taxes it'll come close to $500. Either way, I'm out $500 that I wasn't planning on spending right now.

That sucks!!!!
In Florida there is no deductible on windshield replacement, but it does count as an occurrence.

My wife's Bronco had a nice crack within the first 60 days we had it. With all of the sensors on it, it came to $1,300, so the $500 was an easy call.

I had a guy in Atlanta that would replace a basic windshield for $175. I would replace my old Camry's every other year - you put 35,000 miles a year on a car it's gonna get cracks - and any of the kids who'd found something to cost me money. That doggone car was running like a top when I traded it in on my Tundra, with just over 405,000 miles...
