⚾ 🥎 🥎 Alabama v. Oklahoma - Tide takes series over Sooners with 2-1 walk off win in extra innings...

Bama wins game 2, 6-1.... Alabama showed their potential today. Great pitching, great hitting, and some great defense. When those line up, this team can beat anyone. But those 3 things just haven't lined up this year, especially against top competition. Hat off to Briski to going back out there today after the rough relief outing yesterday, and throwing a 2 hit CG gem (was 1 out away from a shutout). At the plate, Bama scored in 4 of their 6 innings and got runs off all 3 OU pitchers. Sets them up with a chance to win the series tomorrow night...

Briski has pitched a monster game today. Sux that she lost her shutout, but what a huge confidence builder moving forward!

ROLL TIDE!

Murphy just said it would have been the first time OU had been shutout since 2019 when some gal named Montana Fouts handed it to them.

I was really, really proud of this team for the way the played this series, regardless of how this game turned out... but to take the series is pretty damn sweet. Riley was an absolute boss. If she and Briski can pitch like they did the last 2 games, this squad is about to go on a run.

Riley pitched a helluva game. She pitched out of some jams for sure. I think OU was shell shocked to drop the series.

OU seemed a bit out of sorts for some reason, but I don't care... even out of sorts, they are damn good. And that's just part of it sometimes, Lord knows Bama has been out of sorts plenty this season. And yes, Riley had a hell of a series. Her Saturday start is probably being overlooked some, but she threw a gem in that one too... just had some bad luck on a review when Briski came in to close it out. Otherwise, I think with 2 outs and nobody on, it may have been a different story. If I recall, OU basically got 5 outs that inning with the botched review and the error. Can't give them that much rope. But the pitching in the series was really promising... now, can they carry it over in a very short week to Gainesville against another top team? Should be interesting.
