🏈 So how do we look for next year?

I have wondered this myself. My gut tells me with the attrition on defense, we will see a repeat of 2010. I look for a young defense that will be very good, but make "youthful mistakes". I have not looked a lot at other teams rosters, but if memory serves me correct, Arky is fairly young as well. Right now, shooting from the hip, I expect us to have a down year with a 9-10 win season. :dazed: I think with the road schedule we have next year, it will be tough as well. We go to Dallas to play Michigan, to College Station, to Baton Rouge, and to Fayetteville. (we also go to Knoxville, but does that really count?)

I look for 2013 to be a year much like this year. We should have a seasoned defense that should be pretty stingy. And for the first time in the CNS era, we will have a seasoned QB to go along with the defense. Eddie Lacy (if he stays) will be a senior along with AJ. The offensive line should be intact at that point and hopefully we will have a committee of Lacy, Hart, and Sanders (but not necessarily in that order)

Like I said this, this is from the hip, and not well researched. But I think we will lose a step or two next year, and the way I feel right now, next year might be the year Arkansas actually gets over the hump with us. I just think the youth on Defense will show up much like it did in 2010.

At WR we lose Maze, Hanks, Gibson. OL Vlachos, maybe Jones.TE Underwood and Smelley. RB Trent.

DL Chapman, LB Harris, Hightower, Upshaw, Watkins, DB Menzie, Barron, P. Jones, likely Dre.

A lot depnds on our young WR developing, but we should be fine on offense.

DL should be fine. LB we lose two great players, but return some with potential to reload.

At the corners, if we get some instant juco help (it looks like we are going to) we will be ok.

I'd say the D won't be quite as suffocating as this year's, but it won't be as green as we were in 2010.

Considering LSU wil be the one breaking in a new QB, it could be just as heated next year.

Arkansas loses three great receiviers, two good linebackers.

As the old song says "and the beat goes on".

That's pretty much my sentiment as well. I'd take it I guess. That would set us up nicely for another trip out to Pasadena in '13.

I think that offensively we will be better with the exception of losing Trent. Defensively, look for younger guys to have to step up from their spot roles or special teams play and have to contribute. 10-11 wins is about what I would imagine when you look at what some of our opponents will be losing.

The O-Line will be unfair. As a whole, the offense will be very good, because of that.

We won't lead the nation in every category on defense again next year, but we won't have to. They will still be good. A ton of young talent. Loaded again at LB.

Could somebody please break down the receivers for next year? How will the Tide be at that position?

This is obviously just my opinion... but I think that unit could be REALLY, REALLY good.

We've already seen the way Kenny Bell can stretch the field, hes only a Sophomore. Hes gonna be a good one. Michael Bowman is MASSIVE and I really hope he can get on the field, a guy like that can definitely be a weapon. Maybe take Smelley's H-Back spot even? Duron Carter will finally be in, and noone really needs to say anything more on him. We all know how talented he is. Just hope the rust doesn't hurt him. Kevin Norwood and DeAndrew White have both shown flashes, especially White. Add in the Redshirt Freshman Marvin Shinn (good size and speed), Ronald Carswell, Bradley Sylve (SPEEDSTER), and Danny Woodson plus incoming freshmen Chris Black (hell of a talent) and Amari Cooper.

Christion Jones has been impressive at times as well.

JMO, but if Barret Jones comes back I would not be shocked to see him move into the center position and make way for Cyrus Koujandkqojwer;qlkdfmapoei to take over the left tackle spot. They were grooming him that way before he tore his ACL. Plus I remember when Jones was practicing all over OL beginning of fall camp, he took some snaps at Center.

You realize if Jones comes back and starts at center, he may be the only player I have ever heard of to make All SEC at Guard, Tackle, and Center (assuming he performs as well at that position as he has at the other 2)? At that point, could we just name him the greatest Alabama lineman ever?

If yall are right and Barrett comes back and plays Center next year (and has the success he has elsewhere) then wow. that is going to one super rich man one day, u know NFL teams would be DROOLING over a guy that can not only play every position on the line (remember Antoine Caldwell was like that) but is an all star at every position. that is nuts.

one guy that hasnt gotten near enough recognition is DJ Fluker, i cant recall him getting beat much at all this season (if at all) nor doing anything dumb in regards to penalties. he handled every DE that matched up with him against LSU too. for a guy that only played on the O-Line for one year in high school he has come a LONG way.

Birdman you are correct. I have been really pleased with the line as a whole. Warmack IMO has made the most improvement. (At least from where I was sitting in section C) I mean that as a joke in the sense of, I don't get paid 6 figures to know who is the best, etc.

It seems that last year Warmack was getting called for holding about every game. A lot fewer mistakes along that line this year. With everything setting up for a strong defense in 2013 I think the OL might be the only question mark we have with having to replace a few guys along that front. By 2013 Warmack and Jones will be gone. That will leave Cyrus at LT, Steen at RG, Fluker at RT. We would have some big shoes to fill at that point.
