Let me state again. There is no rule that winning the Heisman means you don't win the NC. Do you really think this has sidetracked Saban, Ingram, and others? Doubtful. As their motto has seemed to be, they will not be denied.

I can honestly say I haven't cared about it for a long time and this year since a Bama player may actually win it, I have been paying attention to the hype surrounding the award. I would rather win the NC than the heisman as I'm sure all the players and fan would also.

It is still the most prestigious individual award (even if I scoff at many of the winners in recent years) in CFB. If Ingram wins it, it would bring a tremendous amount of good publicity to The University, but also, and more importantly IMO, highlight Mark even more on the national level. He is a super representative of our (my) University and he deserves all the success in the world. He has earned it, and I hope he gets it. If an Alabama fan is sitting around hoping he doesn't win it because of some selfish reason (i.e. "Heisman winners don't win bowl games", the tired worn out... "Bama don't do Heisman's BAMA does Championships", etc..,), they need to pull their head out of their ass.

I think Ingram worked for it! and as long as he keeps his head level he should have no problems in coming games. But he shouldnt have NO problem keeping a level head he's a CHAMPION!

BINGO! I too, like the vast majority of Bama fans, have never been concerned about a Bama player winning the Heisman. But I think it is time we rethought that. The way HCNS is recruiting, it would be a shame if he lost a Heisman caliber player because the player thought if he came to Bama he would not win it simply because of that reason.
