I would be open to having guys that are "seniors in the classroom" but only juniors on the field participate in the Senior Day activities. Chances are, these kids aren't coming back anyway. More of these kids take classes in the summer than you realize, even if it is only 6 hours a summer term. Watson is considered a redshirt junior correct?

No, he played as a Freshman and tore his ACL, had his amazing year last year, and this year.

I think Watson is a true junior.

You don't have to be a freshman to be redshirted. It can happen any time due to injury, academics or simply not playing.

I'm with most that say seniors should be recognized on Senior Day. The ONLY exception would be for a player who, due to injury or lack of a football future, gives up his athletic redshirt senior year to graduate on time. This may include many walk-ons who don't have the funds to pay for five years of school.
