I was surprised at how well the LSU QB performed. He did pretty good for his first ever start. I don't like LSU having a good QB.

He was less than 50% on a completion rate in a big ball game. No touchdowns and less than 150 yards passing.

If we've been taught anything this summer it's this--those types of numbers from that position mean that LSU does not have a quarterback.

A couple of plays from 11-2 is not a bad team. Hoe many plays have we come from a three to four loss season?

True. But he threw the ball 24 times and had no interceptions plus no turnovers. That’s an improvement and he managed the game the way Coach O wanted.

Well considering most of the country had them failing and no real chance at winning last night I'd say you let them have their day as they proved everyone wrong so far. Hell, we could fall a part with a couple of injuries. Anything can technically happen.

The thing is that you can see the extra talent he brings compared to the others. LSU was moving the ball and forced Miami to respect the passing game while #4 gashed them on the ground. First meaningful snaps he's taken in college, I'd say he survived and helped his team win. LSU is gonna be a tough out.

Ha, LSU is just laughing at Texas right now and how that all shook down. Sure, Herman may have better long term success at a place like Texas, but as we've all said, it's win now in college football.

I'm not saying LSU is a title contender, but they went out after all the talk about them getting ready to have a "rough year" and whipped Turnover Chains ass and never looked back. A Top 10 team through the coaches and AP that they just beat down. I am happy to see the SEC do well agaibst the Pac-12 and ACC, though all teams were in the West, it still gives the league some fire and respect with the dropoff we see in the West.

The nation overreacts to Oregeron and his tactics, but it does work for his team. They may very well drop an easy one, like last year with Troy, but they will also have the chance to take out an Auburn if Auburn ain't ready, again.

Did you see anyone in the West that didn't look like they received a massive upgrade in coaching this weekend? Joe Burrows went 11/24 for 140 yards, 0 TDs, no interceptions. A long way to go on the newest reinvention but I thought they showed a lot of promise. But right now Joe Burrow gave them a Danny Etling performance in a better offensive scheme.

Right now LSU's Burrow and Bama's Hurts are putting up the same results--numbers and wins. But, one team doesn't have a quarterback and the other does? In fact, Hurts numbers for '17 are better than Burrow's (about a three yard difference in yards per attempt.)

I seriously don't get this because there's so much contradiction.

Hurts doesn't scare anyone with his arm. Burrows moved the offense esrly in the game before they put the brakes on and coasted in the second half. Comparing the two would be a quick argument, because I think anyone on this page and anyone around the country would take Burrows performance and impact over Hurts' performance and impact.

Even those who aren't in their right mind are going with Jalen. Hell, LSU fans are making the comparison between Etling and Burrow.

Not sure where Hurts' entire resume entered the conversation, but you compared their numbers from Saturday night, so that's where my comparison on their impact came from. Anyone in their right mind would take a two year 26-2 guy over a one start guy, duh, but that isn't what we're talking here. I personally don't care what LSU fans are comparing because they've proven to be idiots with the way they trash recruits and their own coach ad nauseum and are beligerent. My entire point was that I took up for LSU being better than you and mostly everyone else said they would be, we had a back and forth about it preseason. Whoever's offense was being ran, it doesn't matter because it still takes players and execution. I know you're digging in here and that's fine, but they have stolen a victory not many expected, so they deserve credit for that. Their defense was stingy, and their offense moved the ball.

My entire point was that I took up for LSU being better than you and mostly everyone else said they would be, we had a back and forth about it preseason. Everyone was scratching their heads trying to count six wins and last night was a step in the right direction to proving folks wrong. You point to the entire season and a wait and watch them fall a part approach, but we're just going off one week in efforts of having things to talk about and they won the week.

Oh hell yes I've said that. And, I still maintain that stance.

If you recall, I've also said no matter how last night's game ends up it is going to go one of two ways and both are lose/lose for LSU. One, a loss and Ed is even more on the hot seat. A win and we're going to see Miami exposed for what they are...a team a lot had doubts about last season.

One win is a step in the right direction to a total of six. I've said all along I've taken the under at 7.5.

After watching all of the SECW play this past weekend I wouldn't take LSU over either of the MS schools, and would walk away from laying anything on their game against Arkansas.

Their defense was as athletic as we expected. I wasn't, in the least, impressed with their offensive performance.
