🏈 SEC/Top 25 Games of the Week (9-1)

Don't know if I've ever seen someone coach as poorly as Willy Taggert has tonight. Holy crap.

First he takes his own TD off the board by hurrying a play at the goal line, unnecessarily. Then they finally get momentum back in the 4th and he opts for a trick play with the RB running a zone read, only to fumble.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot! The OL is a mess too.

Week one over-reactions? I'm seeing quite a few.

That said, I don't get why we've seen all the infatuation with Taggert taking over FSU.

When he was first hired I read over more than a half of a dozen articles pointing to how many black coaches he had on his staff. I don't disagree with the premise there are coaches out there that haven't been given their chance to shine on the main stage. Some lay it at the feet of "color bias." I'm very hesitant to go that far not knowing, outside of what we see written, a lot about their administration.

My thoughts when he was hired were not along racial lines, but along the lines of "what's he proven?" I didn't see him ready for the big stage. I'm still holding a lot of doubt he is.

Based on one game the idea their max for '18 is eight regular season wins isn't far fetched. Today, I'm not sure who I'd take in the last game of the year--Florida. I don't see them beating Clemson, have doubts about whether they can get by schools like NC State and Boston College (I believe they play BC, don't hold me to that.)

FSU vs Louisville? FSU vs Miami?

When thinking about the major football programs in Florida, and including the mid-majors, do we have to go back to the late '80's to find a time where the states' programs are this poorly administered?

Speaking of anemic and Florida State, that was a terrible exhibition of red zone offense last night. Put that together with terrible ACC officiating and it was a bad look all around. I know that VaTech has a good DC, but they were literally replacing all their defensive studs last night.
