🏈 GAME THREAD SEC/NCAA Games of Week Six (TV schedule and discussions.)

I have to go watch my daughter perform in a band competition but will be able to watch our boys ROLL before I leave and come home to some good games!!

Seriously....please dont get into a big fight with other dads...
The 2 video posted this week ( I know they weren’t you)
...were...enough.......lol

No worries! I watch my daughter and just critique her performance. Most of the time, I'm wrong and have no clue. I just try and prove to her that I do pay attention. I'll have the phone open to the ESPN app to watch games and as soon as she steps off the field, we will give her some money and then we will leave. My wife knows my brain is trained to football and has been since the day we met.

I'd like to see Kentucky win at Kyle Field.

@UAgrad93 I'm on my 5th year of band competitions, after this year we'll have 1 more to go. We had a 5 hour gap between performances last Saturday and the competition was about 45 mins from the house, so rather than drive back home, we found a theater across the street and watched Predator. Not sure what we're going to do this weekend, we're at the same place again, but the competition is at 1:45, then they'll announce finals at around 5pm (7pm-10pm). It's a beating, luckily it's only 5 weeks. We're also going up to Indy again this year for Band of America.

The schedule conflicts with the remaining games Tennessee (Dallas), LSU (San Antonio competition) and Miss State (Indy).

You not that guy that go see his daughter at the flag competition, and stand up and yell when she get a good grade on it? Or You? Have you seen it, it's a tv commercial for a hotel I think! But I still have a feeling for all the parents that do the band thing, I did it for my daughter, that my granddaughter! Right now my great - grand are too young to be in school much less band! @planomateo, this go to you too!

@rick4bama, I've seen the commercial and "No, I'm not that guy!" I sit quietly and video her during the entire performance. I had to stop commentating though. My daughter told me, "Dad, I know I messed up! You don't have to remind me on the video!"

I noticed last year their SEC home record isn't something they'll brag about.
i wanna see miss st take out their frustrations from the fl loss on auburn.....in a bad way!
I've been too busy to look over the last 24+ hours or so...any word on the injuries along their offensive line? From what I learned Sunday it wasn't looking good for the running back to be back this weekend.

I guess everyone is waiting for Notre Dame to be Notre Dame and lose one they shouldn't. I know the QB for VaTech was knocked out of his recent game and without him I don't think they have the blueprint for the upset. And the new QB guy for the domers seems to have a good feel for the offense that Kelley wants to run.

@planomateo, Two of the most publicized hires of this past off-season and we're left with one question; Between Frost and Kelly, who wins their first game, first? My guess is Frost when Nebraska catches Minnesota in a few weeks. Kelly may be looking at the end of the month before seeing his (Oregon State.)

Going with the Gators at the Swamp. Mullen is the better coach. I feel the Ogre will eventually start to screw things up. I'm pulling for #FailState simply because I despise the Barn! Could be another "barn burner" 3-2 game!!! Come on Hokies!! Brian Kelly is a Dick!!!

State's offense stinks, but Auburn's not much better

A week ago, even as early as Labor Day, the stars didn't seem to align with No. 8 Auburn defeating Mississippi State in Starkville.

Auburn didn't have a running game to speak of and State, with almost all of its starters returning, including one of the SEC's top defensive fronts, was going to be a slight favorite to hang a second loss on the Tigers. Auburn beating State on the road -- because the Bulldogs' defense can shut down the run -- just didn't add up to a Tigers victory with all those cow bells clanging.
Then came Kentucky 28, State 7 and Florida 13, State 6.

Now we're calling an audible. A "Whoa Nellie."

Opinions have changed, starting with the Vegas sports books. Now Auburn enters Saturday night's 6:30 game a 3 1/2-point favorite.

What's wrong with Auburn can be fixed with a running attack, but that may be another year and three more losses away. We'll find out Saturday. On the plus side, the Tigers have a dependable quarterback with Jarrett Stidham and a few good wide receivers such as Darius Slaton and Ryan Davis. I'm fairly certain Gus Malzahn and his OC, Chip Lindsey, would feel a whole lot better if their NFL talent QB was playing a whole lot better, too.

We know Auburn's defense could be more dominating, but it's hard to nitpick Kevin Steele's guys.

What's wrong with State is another story. Its defense is still a force, giving up 287 yards and 13.4 points per game, but the offense stinks. Thirteen points in two games and the opponents are not named Alabama and Georgia.

Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald, coming off a knee injury, is playing like he's coming off a knee injury. He needs a heavy dose of confidence and some wide receivers. Whatever rookie coach Joe Moorhead is doing isn't working. The offense has been a disaster in SEC play.

Moorhead, going back to his Penn State days, likes to go deep a bunch of times during a game. Fitzpatrick is no Trace McSorley. His 49 percent completion percentage is the worst in the SEC among starting quarterbacks.

Heaven help him this weekend against the Tigers' defense.

I knew Moorhead would bring his own offensive philosophy into Starkville. I don't think anyone suspected the move from Mullen's simplified Wing-T approach to Moorhead's scheme would be so difficult. As of today I'm of the opinion it's the students, not the teacher.
