So did Kirby, but just like with Scott, things changed.Cochran did good things for Bama. We need to acknowledge and appreciate him for that. he is now our competition so he will be treated accordingly!!! Nothing wrong with that in my view.
Kirby was no real surprise. We began to see his true self emerge when Lane was getting the attention at Bama and it wasn't Kirby's defense. Scott was a surprise to a lot. But, those same people who were surprised were not aware of the reviews his program was getting from his peers in the league. They weren't aware Saban was considering changes, exploring new routes (as he's mentioned within the last few weeks injuries being a part of that,)
and the direction Saban wanted to go was met with "dissent." In other words, Cochran wanted to go a different direction than Saban.
The Cochran's, Scott and his wife, have done a lot of great things around the city as well.
It's my growing belief he became too big for his role...at least in his mind. It can likely be chalked up to human nature. After all, how many S&C coaches get national commercials with companies like AFLAC?
