The Ozark Mountains in Northwest Arkansas are beautiful. Eureka Springs is a quaint little village about 60 miles from Fayetteville that is fun to visit. They have supposedly the most haunted hotel there, called the Crescent Hotel,that was built in 1889 and is gorgeous.

When I was living in Memphis the one thing I liked about Arkansas was the liquor stores had different hours than those in town. A quick trip across the river in I-40, a drive through store, and back home in no time.

I like their mascot also. My son’s favorites are Sparky the Sun devil, Demon Deacon, and Purdue Pete the Boilermaker. There’s some good ones out there.
