šŸˆ Sagarin ratings

By the end of the season, his computer poll has traditionally been the one that mirrored the human polls more closely than the others.

But, you can't pay any attention to Jeff's poll until you get more than halfway through the season...in fact, it's probably safe to say you can't pay attention to it until about 75% of the way through the season.

In layman's terms (as of today,) Va. Tech gets about as much credit for playing us as they lose credit for the loss. A lot of his formula is based on schedules.

And the fact they beat a highly overrated Miami team did not hurt. Miami should have never been in the top 10.

And, their ranking (VT's) will get another boost this weekend when Miami faces OU. Sagarin uses who you've played, who they've played and how good they are...

We'll get a decent bearing on how good Miami is, as well as OU, this weekend. Hell, I'm liable to pay more attention to that game, and USC vs Cal, than I am the Auburn vs UT game Saturday night.

Yeah I understood you Terry when you said it is a progressive thing.

Is this the guy that had Iowa in the top 5? Not saying anything about Iowa but was just wondering.
Might be thinking of the BYU guy on CFL.
I am thinking the same about the games this weekend. Not really concerned with the Aubrun or Tennassee game. We will see them soon enough. I am watching everything else to see how good they are. So much up and down play so far this year hard to get a read on many teams. Top ten changes so drastically, or so it seems, every week.

following the logic.....So we should have gotten a boost by us beating VT and VT beating a ranked Miami. Yet we are still behind them at this point. Oh well, keep winning and it doesn't really matter.

He has Iowa #1 where it matters the most in his rankings.

The ELO-CHESS will be utilized by the Bowl Championship Series(BCS).

Bama is #3 there and VT is #5.
