He's kidding around with them, but also hits them square between their eyes about the stupid stuff they do like, take roll, meticulously analyze player rotations during drills, etc. They go out there, and instead of giving good reports on how players look, and asking intelligent questions, they want to know why the backup strong safety wasn't out there during the stretching period.
