The Alabama Crimson Tide hosts its first home football game of the 2015 season Saturday, Sept. 12, against Middle Tennessee State University. For fans traveling to Tuscaloosa, there are some changes this season that could affect those plans.

The University Boulevard bridge in Alberta is currently being replaced and will be out all season. Fans who typically travel this route to campus will need to plan for a detour. The UA Gameday Web site outlines a detour involving Crescent Ridge Road and Jack Warner Parkway. Click here for the details:

Also, construction on Interstate 20/59, near exit 79 in both directions of travel will continue this season. Speeds are reduced for several miles in the area. Travelers can avoid this construction area by using Highway 216. That route is also outlined on the UA Gameday Web site.

There are also numerous road construction projects across Tuscaloosa. Find details and a map of road projects at Tuscaloosa.com.

Tailgating will also be affected this season.

UA is asking tailgaters to contain all alcohol to coolers and crates, in an effort to create a more family-friendly environment.

Power for tailgating purposes (auxiliary power) will be cut off on the Quad 1.5 hours after the game is concluded, regardless of game time. However, all light poles will stay on, as well as portable light towers.

All shuttles from the Quad or stadium will run until 1.5 hours after the game, regardless of game time.

The UA Gameday Info RV will move from the front steps of Reese Phifer Hall. The new location is just across the street, parallel to the lawn in front of Doster Hall.

UA is now a smoke-free campus. This prohibits the use of cigarettes and electronic cigarettes on campus.

UA Gameday Operations has also unveiled an updated Web site for 2015. See the full site and more information here: uagameday.com.
