Rival's Bowl projections have a couple of interesting points.

---Fulmer at Tennessee has for be elated at the prospects of playing a Mark Mangino coached Kansas team. Not since a team photo next to the Shamu tank at SeaWord has Fulmer looked like the out of shape one in the shot. (Its too late to use on Christmas cards, but there is alway next year.)

---As I read it, the Music City and Liberty Bowls effectively bid for their SEC choices. Rival implies MSU will be Nashvilles choice, or that Liberty out bids the Music City for Bama. Considering the usual show of Crimson at the Vandy game, and the prospects of an FSU-Bama rematch again on neutral ground, how does anyone think State is the way to go? (With Memphis and Nashville being just up the road, Bama is the ONLY "have sell-out, will travel" option in this formula as usual.)

---From a football fan's perspective, a Georgia/Boise State match up in the Sugar would be a good game to watch. With weeks to prepare, there is no telling what would happen.
I've wanted some SEC team to get a shot at these guys for a long time.

---A rejuvenated Illinois program versus Florida. Awkward. That's like going to a dinner party and being seated at the same table with your ex.

---Please tell me Auburn would be in their road whites and Clemson in their home purple. This one has too many tigers and too much orange. Doubling up for 3 1/2 hours of "Go Tigers" cheers should make the Chick-Fil-A selection board making mental note not to pull that stunt again. (Its the "Feel-Good bowl" for the players, they will all feel loved and supported by the cheers.)

---In a bowl named for a fort that saw its management turned over in an ugly manner, you could not write it any better to have Michigan vs. Texas A&M. (...and the Bama Nation said in unison, Go Big Blue.)

---I'm sorry, Bama and UCF in the Liberty Bowl is stinker of a match up. Aside from Western Carolina and UL-M, thats the worst sounding game all year - and its a bowl game.

---Soon to be renamed the "Not so tough now, are you? Bowl" The Holiday Bowl projection bodes well for the SEC with the prospects of an SEC team in the BCS Championship game.

---Navy bowling again :P
(GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!)

While I don't pay any attn. to bowl projections (especially considering that all of these questions can't be even speculated on with SEC teams until after this weekend) there are some match-ups that would make the bowl season interesting.

I like watching Kansas play. But, it would be painful to watch UT, simply because it's UT. I'll watch them a few times before our annual meeting. After that? Not so much...

Illini vs Florida. Fun story line there, no doubt.

A PSU vs FSU would be a good game to watch. Over-hyped before the bowl, but a good game in the end.

Crazier things have happened that could put Bama vs A&M if cards fall right.

Put UGA over LSU in the SECCG and you could see a Michigan vs LSU game.

A UGA vs Boise State match-up might be the worst draw the Sugar Bowl has EVER had. I can't say I would watch it.

I just want to see some SEC vs PAC-10 matchups this year. They would be fun to watch, considering its the two best conferences this year.

Georgia vs USC would be fun to watch.

LSU vs Oregon would to

Fun to watch, yes.

Neither have a chance of happening...in fact, as it stands right now, SEC vs Pac 10 won't happen as well. The only way that happens is IF a Pac-10 team is invited to the Sugar. (which would entail two Pac-10 teams making the BCS games.) All of our other bowl tie in's are with the Big 10, Big 12, ACC and CUSA.

Crazier things have happened...I just can't see it falling that way this year.

I have a question. Lets say Lsu wins the SEC and plays in the NC game. Who plays in the sugar bowl?

Depends. If UGA is the SECCG, they would with no doubt. If they don't make it to the SECCG, with their current BCS ranking, they would make it as an at large bid probably. It's certainly Georgia's to lose.

What's interesting would be who would end up in the Cap One bowl.

A LOT will be decided this weekend.
