I can't tell you what you might hear from AU folk.
I can tell you there are different versions of what happened. While a lot of them carry the same general theme, the names I've seen in a lot of these situations/discussions are wrong.
There were two factions in play. There were a few A-club guys that were against Saban; a lot on his side. More importantly, the major players were academic and athletic--one feelings the other had too much importance and the latter feeling one improves the other. We've seen the latter was correct. (FWIW, two names that are missing in this thread...BIG players in this whole deal.)
