šŸ“” Report: Texas A&M interested in Jimbo Fisher

With Kevin Sumlin’s seat growing hotter by the week, names are beginning to surface as to who could potentially replace him as the next head coach at Texas A&M.

During an appearance on the Paul Finebaum Show on Monday, Houston Chronicle reporter Brent Zwerneman threw out the name of Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher when asked to name potential candidates for the job.

ā€œI’m gonna drop one that I mixed into a column a few days ago and it’s a name I heard in the week after the UCLA game and that’s Jimbo Fisher,ā€ he said. ā€œFrom talking to people, that hasn’t changed.

ā€œI will say that Jimbo Fisher has been mentioned around here for some time now.ā€

As Finebaum was quick to note, Fisher has a prior relationship with Texas A&M athletic director Scott Woodward, having worked with him when he was the offensive coordinator at LSU.

In eight seasons at Florida State, Fisher has guided the Seminoles to an 81-22 record, one national championship and three Atlantic Coast Conference titles. He also won a national title as an assistant at LSU.
