Actually lets make that even more dramatic so some of those around here can get it <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">South Carolina</st1:place></st1:state> is ranked 6th in the country in passing defense and Ole Miss ranks 10th coming into this week. So Greg has gone 25-54 in the last two weeks with 2 int which brings his total to 9TD and 3INT which is obviously not great by any means but without getting into the actual numbers he has been pressured NUMEROUS times in both games and has been consistently hit, forced out of the pocket, and had the pocket collapsed on him.
<o:p> </o:p>
So what is the solution? Well obviously its to put Star Jackson in!!!! Forgive me but LMMFAO at that.. Come on everyone (I know only a couple said this) but your solution seriously is to remove Greg in the middle of an SEC game against the #22 team in the nation who also sits at 6th in the nation in pass defense and replace him with a redshirt freshman who couldn’t handle the pressure in a scrimmage at A-Day and went 4-13 with 2 INT.
<o:p> </o:p>
Again sorry for the rant but damn its so crazy around here on game days it seems and some people are so ready to throw players under the bus so quickly. Never mind actually looking at the numbers or circumstances. :lance::lance::lance::lance::lance:

I agree the put in Star comments were a bit much....

Seems like a Barner excuse.

Pulling him out entirely of a game at this point would surely screw that kid metnally probably for the rest of the season. I don't necesarily think GMAC is the problem near as much as the Oline is on pass protection. I think GMAC got the message on our last scoring drive lol. He is a smart kid. He knows he has some issues to work out. He will prevail if we give him time. By we I mean the Oline, fans, media, etc.

I agree completely with you. Probably should have never even posted this and kept it to myself but its so frustrating to see things like that. I mean really the kid is 103 of 173 now on the season with only 3 INT and over 1300 yrds. Do I think he is struggling and could make better decisions? Absolutely! Also though I think he would be much better which a little more time to view the field and get comfortable in the pocket.

I study the offensive side of the ball. I have watched McElwains decisions closely since he has been here......After much evaluation, he seems to be a good QB coach but his playcalling is VERY suspect.

I don't dislike him but I will say this, if he left I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. It may be for the best in the long run. I personally feel offensive playcalling cost up the SECCG last year.

But thats just my view.

I was wondering where "the put Star in" people were, since thats always coming when the starter struggles at Alabama. We could have Tom Brady out there, but the first signs of a bad game would have some in our fanbase screaming to put Rex Grossman in.

McElroy has been more of a key in wins than losses after all,

Personally, I have alot of confindence in him still.

I would have did exactly what the coaches did. Line big Mark Ingram up in the Wild Cat and run it until they can stop it. Great adjustment by the coaching staff and thank you Mark Ingram for throwing the team on your shoulders.

G Mac will be fine. This is his first year as a starting QB in the SEC guys. He is doing just fine in my eyes. He has made some questionable throws, but tell me one person that doesn't ? Think Brett Farve, P Manning, E Manning don't have bad nights ? Ya need to watch more football if that is the case.

Putting Star in today might have helped. I realize that around Tuscaloosa they stick by their QB no matter how ugly it gets, but putting Star in today might've given our offense a spark.

The last two weeks he has looked awful. Today, even without pressure he fumbled and tripped over the grass. He tried like heck to get the ball in Julio even making the smart choice to throw it into double coverage (had Julio not turned into a DB it would've been another turnover for our glorious offense).

I was thinking of putting Star in just to change the tempo of our offense. But, by golly no matter how bad it gets let's stick by our man.

A couple of people during the game thread mentioned it toward the end. I mean seriously, like two. It wasn't a main part of the conversation. Just to put this into a little perspective 4 posts out of 363.

yea because throwing a freshman QB who's never played against an SEC defense, let alone a great SEC defense, in there just would've been genius. man oh man and then if he turned the ball over ppl would've really went into meltdown mode.

Greg struggled BAD tonight there is no doubting that, so putting Star in there for a series or something might have gotten the team more in tune with each other and besides that Star I know is faster than Greg.

Admittedly, I have not read every post on every thread here, but who is talking about pulling GMAC?

Random snipes will alway happen, but I don't see a ground-swell of support for any change, other than keep working to improve every day.

Guys, one thing i think everyone is overlooking is yesterday was a very blustery day, the wind blew like a freight train all day long and that makes for a very bad day passing. In all fairness to Gmac we cant beat mother nature.

A couple of people mentioned it in the game thread. I didn't think it was a big deal. Still don't.

I was one that mentioned that in the heat of ''we need to do something different'' at that point in the game.

Well they did do something different and we put them away with it.
Thats why they are paid the big bucks and im just a fan sitting in front
of his t.v. and computer watching the game as an observer

If they did some of the crap i thought they should do during games
we might not even have a football team
When your backs against the wall you think of all possibilities to escape
that was just one of them :panic:
