You would be crazy to purchase something like this without seeing it up close first. I'm not saying this is'nt the real deal, but it's hard to believe a houndstooth hat worn by The Bear would be sold on ebay. If it was the real deal, and I was selling the hat, I would go elsewhere to sell it. Too many people (like myself) would be very hesitant to purchase this online

It may be authentic, but I'd need to see some more solid proof before dropping a grand on it. It seems to me if the owner of it was selling something like that he'd go a different route than ebay.

People will pay outrageous prices for things on ebay because of the auction dynamic in place. It's more about "winning" the auction or item sometimes than negotiating a fair price. It's a great place for sellers, even though ebay's fees and policies have become downright draconian. Paypal then anally penetrates you after ebay is done.

Not a big fan of ebay anymore, but sometimes, commodity items are found there at better prices than can be found locally. Bought a HID headlight bulb for my car on there for about 25% of the price I could get it at the dealer or at Napa, Autozone, etc.
