🏈 Raekwon Davis shot.

Because like you said, it’s a week before the game, not the night before. There are places that players aren’t supposed to go, not sure if that bar/club is on the list (though I’d guess it will be now), but again, college kids. He was probably there watching the PPV last night.

These things can happen anywhere, but yeah, Westside of town is pretty sloppy. I think I'm more disappointed that he is not more focused on the one game 99% of sports fans will be tuned into to help begin his NFL evaluation to make millions. If he was watching the fight, go to Wild Wings of Bob's Grill near Midtown. Come on guys, wisen up a hair or risk losing millions and in this instance potentially your life.

You guys recall Brandon Deaderick getting shot the week of the '08 or '09 opener. Different scenario, potential victim of a carjacking I believe and this, none the less, it still happened.
All kids have the mentality of being invincible or bulletproof, whether they are in the wrong or simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I pray for a speedy recovery and hopefully he takes it as a lesson learned.

Wasn't some dude trying rob Deaderick in an apartment or something?

Aug 31, 2009 University of Alabama football player Brandon Deaderick was shot late Monday night in an apparent robbery attempt at Rivermont Apartments on Rice Mine Road.
Tuscaloosa Police Chief Steve Anderson said a UA football player was the victim, but would not release his name. Other law enforcement sources identified the player as Deaderick.
The player suffered one gunshot wound to the forearm, which Anderson said was not life-threatening. The chief was at DCH Regional Medical Center at about 11:30 p.m. Monday night and had spoken with the victim.
The player was in the parking lot of Rivermont Apartments about 10 p.m. when he was approached by a man wearing dark clothes, a dark ball cap and a blue bandana over his face. He did not know the man, who pointed a gun and said “Give it up,” Anderson said.
When he refused, the assailant fired the gun, striking him in the arm.
Police were still searching for the shooter in the Rice Mine Road area as of midnight.
Alabama football coach Nick Saban was not immediately available for comment.
Deaderick, a 6-foot-4, 306-pound defensive end from Elizabethtown, Ky., started all 14 games last season as a junior and was Alabama’s top returning pass rusher. He made 36 total tackles last season and was second on the team with four quarterback sacks and tied for the lead in quarterback hurries with seven. He won the team’s Up-Front Award as the outstanding lineman on defense.
The 22-year-old Deaderick also won the Billy Neighbors Defensive Lineman Award in the spring and was listed as a starter on the official depth chart released Monday by head coach Nick Saban.
As a sophomore, Deaderick played in all 13 games with seven starts.

Alabama defensive lineman Raekwon Davis suffered “a minor gunshot injury” in the parking lot of a Tuscaloosa bar early Sunday. It was first reported by The Tuscaloosa News.

Davis was hospitalized with a leg injury that he received from a stray bullet. Investigators told The Tuscaloosa News he was not targeted at 3217 10th Street, just off Stillman Boulevard.

“The victim told investigators he was standing outside of Bar 17 when he heard several gunshots and realized he had been shot in the right leg,” Homicide unit commander Gary Hood told The Tuscaloosa News. “The victim was uncooperative with investigators.”

Investigators recovered several shell casings from the parking lot.

Later Sunday afternoon, coach Nick Saban released a statement on the incident.

“Our concern at this time is for Raekwon and his health,” Saban said in a statement. “While this does not appear to be a serious medical situation, Raekwon is still being evaluated.”

A sophomore, Davis is projected to be a starter at defensive end this season after playing as a reserve as a freshman in 2016. The 6-foot-7, 306-pounder played in seven games and recorded four tackles and a sack as a true freshman a season ago.

No. 1 Alabama will open its 2017 season against No. 3 Florida State on Saturday, Sept. 2.http://alabama.247sports.com/Bolt/R...-Davis-suffers-minor-gunshot-injury-106559552
