šŸˆ Question regarding playoffs

Most everyone has had their say as to how they think it's done so let's look at HOW IT IS DONE and has been since day one of the CFP. The #1 seed has never been given their choice. The CFP has their parameters and the #1 seed is given preference in THEIR application of those parameters.

9. Pairings for Semifinals
  1. The team ranked No. 1 by the selection committee will play team No. 4 in the semifinals. Team No. 2 will meet team No. 3.
  2. When assigning teams to sites, the committee will place the top two seeds at the most advantageous sites, weighing criteria such as convenience of travel for its fans, home‐crowd advantage or disadvantage and general familiarity with the host city and its stadium. Preference will go to the No. 1 seed.

So, now that Jerry's world is hosting the Rose Bowl slot and will allow around 20k fans, does BAMA pick DFW or New Orleans, who is only allowing 3k fans? Doesn't #1 have the choice?

Nope, the committee gives preference to the #1 seed in making the selection. The #1 seed has no input in the selection. Granted there is most assuredly someone on the committee that would know what choice the #1 seed would make.

Yeah, I always thought #1 had their choice, but got confused with the Cotton Bowl selection. Then I thought in this year maybe they just made the selection, and then I heard their reasoning with my fans being able to see #1. Kills me as I was planning for a trip to New Orleans with a free room at the casino.
