Right now for as little as a $100 donation to UA's athletic A+ program you receive 50 "Tide Totals" points.

Question...what does that really get me? I know bowl tickets and road game tickets are based on the Tide Totals points system, but I just wonder if that 50 plus my few points for ordering season tickets will get me anywhere.

If you ever decided to upgrade your Tide Pride membership and there happens to be a waiting list the availability is determined on basis of who has the most points.

Now that's a interesting system. Basically its who spends the most money...

Basically, yes. The Tide Totals Point System is based on gifts to the University Athletic department. The more gifts (money), the more points. Its an incentive to give more to the school and it also ensures that folks who have loads of money can always get great stuff like the best seats or skyboxes. It stinks that I can't afford those things, but I do believe that people who give large donations deserve to be treated like VIP's. I know that if I gave a huge gob of money, I'd like to be able to get a sweet skybox myself.

Cheers,
SR

One thing it also encourages is people attending other sports events like baseball, gymnastics, basketball, etc.

There are a good number of schools around the nation that use programs very similar to ours.

Thanks guys. To me it's a no brainer to donate $100 to get the one-time 50-point bonus. Normally you get 1 point for each $100 donated to Tide Pride, so in a way this is equal to giving $5000. Now, that's pocket change for some but much more than what I normally give. :)

As I did more research I don't know how much it will help me in the short run. Look at the point breakdowns for ordering away game tickets. I'll need a lot more points along the way. :?

While it doesn't equal a lot of points, if you plan your trips wisely you can rack up on a single weekend. Usually, at least twice in the spring, you can spend a weekend in T-town that can have as many as 5 different events. I've managed to see baseball, basketball, softball and gymnastics on the same weekend...a few years ago mind you.

If you haven't been to a softball game yet, take your daughter. She would LOVE it.
