The sideline reporter mentioned that after the season ended Saban took the D and watched film from back at A-day. The reporter said they couldn't believe the difference. She said they thought it looked like a Chinese fire drill compared to what they're doing now.

I'm assuming that means they thought they've come a long way. :)

I caught that as well and threw in a copy of a few games early on this season. It's quite a difference with schemes, the amount of packages, fluidity of both sides of the ball, etc.

Things could have gone a lot different this year in many respects if a few things would have played out differently.

I believe the process of accountability is starting to take place among the players and coaches. I believe they are starting to amp it up for next year and Coach Saban is getting them more geared to his way of running things. Adding more palys, complicating the schemes, and making them play for four quarters.

I saw in the first half of our bowl game a team that would of gave even the number one team in the country fits. For some reason both offense and defense fizzled in quartes 3 and 4. Getting them to finish games and believing in their selves will take more time, but we are close. We finally didn't have to come from behind to win. Positives are there. Cant wait till next year.

It is almost like when we get a lead we have to sit on it................I have heard that CNS likes to play close to the vest once he gets out front. (Let his defense do what it do)

That seems to be the opposite of what he preaches though about finishing and playing for 4 quarters. Granted Colorado like a lot of teams we played were able to get things going and exploit some weakness', but all year long it seemed as though we never could put the nail in the coffin. Tennessee was the only game that didn't happen. (guess we peaked)

I'm looking forward next year and watch our team take on the characteristics of a CNS team that gets better as the season goes along and plays it's best ball at the end of the year!

AMEN.

You know the best thing I saw this year. It was the way we manage the clock. I kept my eye on the clock just to see. And most of the bowl game we ran it down to 2-1 second before hiking the ball. The last two years we would had a flag or we would have call a TO.

I don't know Doug. The games that come to mind where we blew big leads (Arky, Houston, CU) it was the offense getting in a funk (mainly an int here and there by JP) that began our downfall.

It seems this year that when the offense was rolling they were unstoppable, but when they got in a funk they couldn't get themselves out. The only exceptions would be the Arky game and the UGA game where we tied it for OT.

Once the "big mistake" occured (for lack of a better name) the offense became almost elementary and just star struck. It's like no one could catch anything any longer and we were deers in the headlight. I can only imagine how frustrated the coaches were with this.

So, I don't think it was the D that let up so to speak. It was the one big play that changed the momentum that we never could seem to capture back. If not for the int and Leigh Tiffin's FG we would have had ZERO momentum past the 1st quarter and a half the other night.

I'm so excited about the future of our defense. I love me some D. :)

I am excited about the entire team, but I love some D too :D It is coming. The process has already set in.
There was dramatic improvement through out the team. period. It gets better and we all know it will. We can see, other might not...but who cares what they think anyway. They are not part of the crimson nation, does not really matter what they think.

One of the biggest differences is that when a play was signaled, you didn't see several players running over to the caller (MLB) and ask him what it was, or the MLB telling them where to go. Everyone seemed to get it.

I always try to remember the number of really young guys we've got starting on D. Kareem Jackson, McLain, some Dline guys. It's going to get better.
