I understand your point. How many understood Barnett's?
If he'd have stayed he'd have lost a year. Choosing to leave when he did (despite the circumstances and the "influences" he was hearing) was a smart move. Personally, I have a hard time with the word "quitter" when he's looking out for himself.
Like a lot of things, another situation where I see things a little differently than others, eh?
I understood Barnett's point and it was painfully clear. He would have lost a year of eligibility where he was GUARANTEED to be the starting QB. Otherwise, he was playing a lot of football at QB, at Alabama, the college of HIS choice, as a redshirt freshman. To surmise, Barnett was the backup QB on a NC team and was an injury or just simply poor performance on Jalen's part of being the starting QB. How is that not quitting on your team? After transferring to ASU, is he now guaranteed such a starting job? And suppose again, it doesn't materialize as a redshirt, transfer freshman? If not, I smell a transfer. If so, he quit..................................... again.
