I don't understand how the committee will put a team that didn't even go to their conference championship, in the playoffs.
So if head to head matters
And
Conference championships matter
The how?
'splain please.

As Desmond Howard said, if you were to reverse the standings between OSu and Psu, it would not even be a thought. But because it's OSu in the back, its all about picking the best team. remember when it was Alabama and LSU, (Championship means MORE) (Head to Head means MORE) and those qualifiers should have been followed with "UNLESS its Osu, then we can do whatever we think is best"

I understand that everyone wants tOSU in and the other three could probably kick the crap out of them. The fact remains that they aren't going to the little 10 conference championship. Just sayin'.
You right, the way I thought, the reason for the playoff was to get the best, to me if you don't play in your Championship game than you are not the best. Just because you have a better record than the two playing in the game shouldn't matter.

I just find it so ironically hilarious that the group complaining the most about the Bama vs LSU BCS championship game and how Alabama didn't play in their conference championship was the Big 10. The first one to benefit from the playoff and have a non-conference (or division for the matter) champion likely playing is the Big 10. Ya think anyone will call them out on that? Yah, neither do I.

One of the talking heads on CBS's studio team at the half called OSU out on this. Apparently, he still carries some resentment for Bama being there in '11, and he showed those same feelings about OSU.

Conference Championship is not a requirement to get in, period. That was the entire point of this stupid committee, to get the top 4 teams in regardless of anything. If thats not the case than just put the BCS back in. Ohio State would beat Penn State by thirty 9 times outta 10 times. Yes they lost a game and you have to pay the price for it, but anybody that has seen any football this season and has any lick of logic can't reasonably say Penn State should be in the Top 4 over Ohio State. IF we are going for the top 4 teams regardless of anything else, then OSU is ahead of Penn State.

It's all riding on Clemson, Washington, and Alabama at this point. Any of the teams losing would open the door for something crazy, depending on how the B1G championship game goes.

Assuming all 3 of the above win...
If Penn State beats Wisconsin, Penn State is in as they have the head to head over Ohio State. If Wisconsin beats Penn State, things get interesting, I could see Ohio State slipping into the playoff game and Wisconsin sitting at home. Wisconsin lost to both Michigan and Ohio State by a TD.

It all hinges on Clemson, Washington, and Alabama to keep things from getting crazy. They have to win.

Via the CFB Playoff website. I'm gonna laugh hard if Ohio State is sitting at home again during the playoffs.

Every Game Counts
The College Football Playoff preserves the excitement and significance of college football’s unique regular season where every game counts.

Four Teams
The selection committee ranks the teams based on conference championships won, strength of schedule, head-to-head results, comparison of results against common opponents and other factors.

Doesn't matter if Wisky beats Penn State by 40, they aren't getting in with two losses over a one-loss Ohio State.
