I see that...looks like you have some kind of beans or something growing around the base...right hand side.

I've used green bean plants as a fertilizer source for Okra ... as well as a bit of a "ground cover" to reduce the amount of weeding.

That's just a morning glory vine that has been allowed to grow. Nothing planned. It's actually a sign that the person in charge of keeping weeds out of the okra is not very active in doing so..

I've seen PVC pipes put around Okra plants so they could use their string trimmer around the plants. It worked.
