🏈 PFF 2017 Mock draft

Yeah, Cam Rob sucks so much he's a semifinalist for the Outland Trophy
Cam Robinson Selected as Semifinalist for Outland Trophy

And?

Barrett Jones won it and was drafted 5th round as a senior...

William Vlachos was a semifinalist and went undated free agent.

Antoine Caldwell was a early semifinalist as a senior and he was drafted in the 3rd round.

I've said nearly all season that his game tape doesn't lie. He hasn't graded like a 1st rounder. And the experts who make a living evaluating pro talent support that fact.

Cam Rob won't win the Outland.

Your argument is moot.

He's not a 1st rounder.

Jon Allen was a late 1st/early 2nd projection last year, and chose to stay to work on his technique and improve his stock. And now he's projected by many to be the #1 overall pick this year. He's made an extra 10 million guaranteed money by staying.

Cam Rob needs to look no further than his teammate on what to do.

We need to stop judging players' college football prowess by where they're drafted by the pros. Do you evaluate a high school football star's value to his team by how many national championships they win in college?

There's a long way to go before draft day. His tape looks good (not perfect) right now but the time between the final game and the combine will change a lot of players.

Oh, no doubt things can change from immediate post season till the combine. But he needs to declare in order to receive an invite for the combine.

And so far thru 10 games, he hasn't graded as a first rounder.

I agree, but let's not forget that recruiting benefits from those high draft picks and the highlight reels of Bama players starring in the league. That, and I'm very hopeful that football continues to pay dividends (either in the game or just opening doors) for those kids who have sacrificed for the University.

RTR,

IMO, he won't put his body through another year of pounding without getting paid. The draft is all about need and matching that need to the talent available. Being a semi finalist for the Outland is a good step. As Saban stresses, focus on the next step, not the end of the journey.
