EUGENE ā Pac-12 teams will still need to have at least a .500 record to be bowl eligible in 2020.
Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott announced the conference will keep its postseason eligibility in place despite the NCAA waiving the minimum number of wins necessary for the shortened 2020 season.
āWeāre still in our discussions with our partners involved in all those bowls,ā Scott said on The James Crepea Show on KORE 1050/95.7 Fox Sports Eugene on Wednesday. āThere are some that are challenged with the requirements, but weāre still hopeful that weāll have a full complement of bowl games for our teams that are eligible, which like itās always been, will require you having a .500 record or better. Weāll obviously have a reduced schedule this year, but weāre looking to maintain the .500 ā we want teams that are .500 or winning.ā

Even if a Pac-12 team earned a spot in the CFP, second team made it to the New Yearās Six and the LA Bowl is played this year, that leaves seven games for the conferenceās 12 teams to fill, making the .500-or-better record mandate potentially a moot point.
