When we had conversations about Anthony Grant and the areas he simply missed on one of my biggest points was he didn't take the time to build the support with the fan base. These last two seasons, IF he'd done that, he'd likely have had a lot more fan support (and understanding.)
As examples I pointed to Kristi Curry, what Sarah Patterson did with her ladies, and of course Coach Murphy.

If you've watched Murph when the team has been on ESPN there's one thing he's always said during those in-game interviews. He makes of point of thanking the broadcast team for coming to Tuscaloosa. Believe you me, that means the WORLD to them. They consider a genuine sign of appreciation and respect.
But, he doesn't stop there as evidenced in this tweet from an Oklahoma football beat writer.
