Jumped in the truck about an hour ago and caught James Carville on Finebaum. That shit was pure Tigah Gold!!!! I had saw somewhere that people were calling his article a satirical piece. That's BULLSHIT!!!! He was getting louder and louder as he spoke!! Each time, believing there is "collusion" taking place between BAMA and the SEC office.

That emotional fool was willing to associate the SEC Office with the Saudi Arabia government. That's going to go over well in B'ham.

This coming from a liberal leaning person as most of you can attest... James Carville made an absolute fool of himself today on Finebaum.

He went on a huge rant about how the SEC is conspiring for Alabama and against LSU and used three examples as "proof." No. 1, the targeting hit on White, while Mack Wilson wasn't "even flagged." No. 2, Sankey refuses to overturn the suspension (despite Finebaum saying at least a dozen times "It's an NCAA Rule, I'm pretty sure he CAN'T overturn it) and No. 3, because LSU has to play Florida every year and Alabama plays Tennessee. Legit that was his whiny excuse. Good grief.

Agreeing with Marcus here.

Incidental, or intentional should be the rule. Intentional being launching, lowering the crown of helmet, etc. Incidental would cover if the "defenseless player" ducks his head also.

Differentiate them by "incidental helmet-to-helmet" and "targeting"

Incidental gets enforced like unsportsmanlike conduct (2 calls on same player gets them ejected for the remainder of the current contest). Same yardage penalty, but the ACTUAL targeting gets you ejected, enforced how it is currently.

That's a nice screen grab.

Where's his hand in relation to the neck of Fitz?

Right under his chin.

Textbook targeting.

I didn't see you make this comment when I commented earlier. I just happened to be driving from one school to another when he came on and caught it, too. I couldnt tell at first if it was satire or not but by the end I thought he was being serious (or at least half serious). The Saudi Arabia shit was insane.

@Skipz, Oh, it's funny. If Bama puts a whuppin' on LSU in the same manner they did TX in '09 we'll hear about this for years to come. Hell, I still have those coonasses bring up "Peterson was in!" I mean I heard Mack refer to Colt being hurt this season--almost a decade later.

I heard Mack's Colt nonsense earlier this year, too (ironically when he was defending Saban at the same time lol) and I had an LSU fan hit me with the Peterson thing last year and I was 100% dumbfounded. I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. To the point where I went back and watched that entire game just to see and I laughed out loud for a good two minutes when I realized what it was. 10 years later and there are "fans" hanging their hats on something like that. Unreal. That would be like me going "but Alabama should have beat LSU in 2004 but the corner shoved down the receiver on a pick in the end zone."

@BamaBoyJosh, You're old enough to have seen a Bama that even in its bad years would beat Ole Miss and Arkansas. They'd claim the same. Then, when it's competitive with Auburn they're starting.

What's funny is you've seen years where they didn't--coinciding with Bama's down years. Now, here it is again.

This move Birmingham shit? I wish I'd have thought of suggesting lets move the office to Gainesville when Spurrier was wearing them out every year.

Oh yes, unfortunately I (not so) fondly remember those days. I want to say it was 2005 or 2006 when I was in high school when I first joined this board.

I've never understood the Birmingham stuff and I've never gotten a halfway decent reason for why it being in Birmingham is some conflict? I at least understood moving the SEC Championship away from Legion Field. At the time Alabama was still playing there (and the Iron Bowl). So, it really was a little bit of a conflict. But what would the SEC office moving to Atlanta (or some other neutral city in another state) accomplish? How is that any different than Birmingham with Georgia and Auburn both right down the road from Atlanta. Hell, Atlanta is probably just as close to Auburn as Birmingham is.

Because there are no decent reasons. It's that simple.

I brought the very same thing up several years ago to a LSU group. Their response was "all the refs live in Birmingham." Of course that wasn't even close to being the truth. It immediately went to the schedule and Sankey. "He's a Bama guy."

It's as stupid of an argument as Alabama having the power to control the SEC and NCAA but we don't have lives and we're trailer park, uneducated fans.

And, btw, when it comes to the LSU fan base I haven't ran across a group of fans with more of a paedomorphic sense of humor.
