Just my opinion and not sure if ya'll agree or not, but it seems like running an end around (or WR around) is a terrible play call when you can't even get 1 yard with your runningbacks. Applewhite and Pendry should have saved that one for someone that cares because LSU isn't biting.

LSU seems to have our # called right now. They are beating us up front and on the sidelines. For sure our players need to bow up! Run the ball get something postive going, or it will be a long day.

It's not just you. I was about to jump through the ceiling complaining just as soon as JP handed it to DJ. I think handing off to a WR and running him to the short side, just shouldn't be called period. But that's just me.

Or at least run it to the wide side of the field where DJ can use his jets.

We should abandon the run all together, just throw that ball JPW.

Now let's not lose our head here. LOL We NEED balance. I'm really hoping that we can open up the run game a little in the 2nd half. But don't get me wrong, I'd still love to see some big air, but I believe that we've GOT to establish some sort of ground game here.

ROLL TIDE TOLL!!!!!

He's called a Wide RECEIVER for a reason. Stupid call.

You get the point.

I may stand alone here but I thought it was done in an effort to spread their defense out a little more.

I agree here...LSUs defense were cheating to the wide side of the field most of the game...Applewhite saw that. If the defensive end gets turned in and the corner gets blocked, DJ might have made a big play. (If....ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry christmas too...)

My only critique is the personnel...I would rather see Lowe or Arenas from the slot take a reverse...(ala...Trinton Holliday LSU)

Yeah I know why they did it but I just thought at the time it wasn't the call for the situation. It's not like we tried to confuse them with it since all we did was bring D.J. in motion behind the tailback, indicating to the defense we were going to (a) give it to him or (b) fake it to him. The backside DE only had to stay home to bust up the play if D.J. got the ball.

Overall though I can't complain too much about the playcalling. I thought it was pretty good and any time you can score that many on an LSU defense you're doing something right. That one play was one that I questioned at the time though.

EDIT:

Sorry. I should have also said that the call might have been more effective had we ran a true reverse or an end around without putting D.J. in motion. Seems like we just tipped our hand once we did that.
