🏈 offensive line article in WSJ...

This year my judgment is going to be put to the test.

I've said all along I'm not worried about our OL this season because I have faith in what Pendry brings.

Then, we have articles like this that say it's all about experience. I saw what experience brought us in 2000 and say it's all about coaching.

The truth of the matter may not be told in '09 because of the talent we are recruiting...but it's sure to give us a good picture of how good of a coach Pendry is.

I'm betting in favor...

I'm leaning w/ Terry on this one, --> from what I've seen out of Coach Pendry that gives me the assurance that he'll get it done.

IMHO the O-line preparation is the biggest issue to address by far. So many things hinge on the O-Line. The fact that they scrimmage against one of the best D-lines 'should' make them better given the D-line is unmerciful to them. I guess there is only one way to find out.

I didn't post this to discuss our OL... I was posting it to discuss who we open up against and how good our D will smash their OL :)

Since you are focusing us back on one subject, and that Va. Tech, does anyone have the time to combine the number of starts we have from our defensive front?

The writer has a point. One of the things we consistently pointed to with Clemson, as one example, is their offensive line and how they wouldn't be able to establish an offensive identity in that opener.

On the other hand, I mentioned the 2000 team as an example that went against this assertion.

This article mentions Notre Dame, but fails to address their weak schedule. It also mentions Michigan but fails to mention the pieces of the puzzle the Wolverines are still in search of from RichRod's offense.

How much should we count Carpenter's starts on this list since he isn't is another valid question.
