Did Wesley Neighbors play special teams this year. My brain isn't functioning.

Wesley did not see the field this year in a game. I don't know his circumstances for sure, but if he was a Bryant scholarship recipient he can't play in a game until his third year without counting against our 85. If he's on his own dime now he plays when the staff says he is ready.

I didn't think so. I listed him (before i deleted the double post) but I didn't see him on Terry's list. Figured he must have played special teams and I missed it or something.

EDIT: well, just saw it has already been taken care of.

Slacker.

yeah. And after racking my brain trying to remember everyone as well! haha. I was also listing the sophomores when I should have just said "everyone else". whoops.

the only reason I knew that quickly is because I've kept an eligibility chart...watching scholly numbers, ya know?

It's a subject of debate, because I've seen some that should know say differently...but, I didn't include him thinking Bryant Scholly so he's not even counting against the 85 right now.

What do you mean we ONLY have the 3 guys? Any of our top 3 RB's could start full time if they wanted to. Those 3 will all split the playing time next season, and behind them we have Demetrius Goode, Jeramie Griffin, and Ivan Matchett backing them up.

I'm not sure you understand. If Trent goes pro after 3 years, it has nothing to do with him PLAYING 3 years. After 3 years ON CAMPUS he can go pro. Sure, we could afford to redshirt him, but then we risk only having him actually play 2 years. Follow me?

I'll add. If Upchurch's injury effects him in the Spring or next year, Richardson would probably be our #3 guy. At how often we run, Coffee or Ingram could easily pick up an injury as well. If everyone stays healthy this is my prediction at the 3 deep the next couple years:

2009:
Coffee, Ingram, Richardson
2010:
Richardson, Ingram, Matchett
2011:
Richardson, Ingram, Matchett

One thing to remember is that Coffee has been good behind a great offensive line. If our line struggles next year, Saban may use a guy like Trent a little more often because he has the ability to make his own yards.

I guess what I'm saying is I disagree with you. I think he could be 3rd string at the very least and injuries do happen. When you have a guy that talented on your team, you don't sit him on the bench. He's a playmaker and he'll be the only one of his caliber we have at the position.

If he doesn't play, then yeah, he gets a redshirt. I'm saying he WILL play... and often. unless he gets injured that is.
