šŸ“” OC Brian Daboll to earn more than a million per season; Locksley with 555K raise.

New offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is on pace to make $1.2 million a year, The Tuscaloosa News has learned.

Daboll, whose hiring was announced by the university February 20th, earned $100,000 in March. His contract has yet to be formally approved by the UA board of trustee’s compensation committee. The committee normally meets in the summer.

His predecessor, Steve Sarkisian, was scheduled to make $1 million a season before he left to take the same position with the Atlanta Falcons. Lane Kiffin, who served as Alabama’s offensive coordinator for three seasons (2014-16), made $1.4 million in 2016.

According to the USA Today assistant coach database, 12 assistant coaches earned more than a million in salary in 2016, including both Alabama coordinators (Kiffin and Jeremy Pruitt).

New coach salaries

First-year wide receivers coach Mike Locksley will make approximately $600,000 after earning $45,000 as an offensive analyst in 2016.

New tight ends/special teams coach Joe Pannunzio will earn approximately $378,000.

All new contracts are subject to approval by the UA board of trustees.

I'll say it again, I should have gotten into coaching and just studied the hell out of football to become this good. A lot of time and dedication, sure, but how could you not just love being around the game, making killer money, giving your family a great future, and hopefully transforming the lives of the next generation?

I was on my way there, but a dumbass ex-wife derailed that.

I worked with Tyler Siskey and Derrick Ansley (he was a player then) at Troy and I turned down going to Valdosta State (Tyler took it) to get married to my now ex-wife. Not saying I would be where Tyler is but it does make you think.
