We really can't sell out an arena less than an hour from campus against the #1 team? Seriously?
When I was in school I remember walking across campus one night with some friends...Rose/Paty to Coleman to watch a basketball game. It was snowing and cold as hell. I told myself "I'm never doing this shit again."
And yet, several years later when Bama is hosting Auburn in football, I'm in sleet, rain, and temps in the teens before the game. I left at halftime saying, "I'm never doing this shit again."
Well, I haven't.
Here's my point. People won't go to church due to weather. We've been in the middle of a cold snap. I don't know the forecast for Saturday night in the 'Ham.
Students are gone. It's the holidays. It's a late tip.
The holidays. That Saturday night is likely the biggest night for Christmas parties around the world.
No. I'm not surprised there are a few thousand seats left.
Quite frankly, I'd assume there are a lot of family types who wouldn't want to take their kids to Birmingham at night, ya know? Reputation proceeding itself ... even though the area has improved quite a bit. Perceptions don't change as quickly.
