šŸˆ Nussmeier Leaving to be Michigan OC

It must be tough being a Meechegan fan now. After the debacle with Rich Rod, things have not gotten better under Hoke. Now they are looking up not just at Ohio state, but also at a clearly superior program at Wisconsin. And the non rival from across the state has run past them. Tough times.

James Franklin at PSU will make it tougher too.

It's always hard for me to believe the "Saban is hard to work for" stuff. Bobby Williams didn't go from MSU to LSU because he stayed behind to be HC at MSU. He has worked for Saban more than 10 years now. That kind of loyalty doesn't indicate Saban is hard to work for. Additionally, Kirby Smart has had many opportunities to leave and stays in Tuscaloosa. Again, not a sign Saban is a bad boss.

There is no doubt he's demanding—a trait some find to be hard. I don't think you'll deny it takes a coach cut from a special cloth.

You do hit on a salient point with Williams and Smart while leaving out the number of years Burns has worked for him. Then you have Steele who comes back to work with Saban and just recently had the opportunity to move on and upward but chose to stay. There's Lance Thompson as well.

Terry I think you hit the mail on the head. Everybody has different personalities. Some mesh and some do not. I have worked with doctors that were absolute dicks, but I got along with them perfectly. It all came down to doing my job effectively and providing them with what they needed to do theirs effectively.

We had a sales rep that came through that coached at Hoover with Jeremy Pruitt and in turn got to go to practice at Alabama when Pruitt was there. Says Saban is wound up and has a motor that won't stop. Always thinking and going and seems to never stop. Some folks can't handle that kind of intensity.

While you can say coaches in general are of the same cloth, I would imagine that personalities can make that cloth wool versus silk. All depends on you (the coach) and what your personality is/or can handle.
