I hate it for Keith. I was a walk on here his last season with the TIDE. We were preparing for Vandy and I was running qb for the scout team. I kept the ball on an option and turned up field to what I thought to be open field. Keith grabbed me around the neck and lifted me off the ground. The whistle blew and he calmly placed my feet back and the ground and told me that he wasn't going to hurt ME but he was going to kill the SOB the first time he ran that play. Second series of the game, he followed through with his words and knocked the Vandy qb out of the game.

McCants has been a sad story for a few years now. He used to stop by our tailgate a couple of times a year. He could barely walk even with his cane. Hes made really bad decisions in his life hopefully he will get it turned around.

I have ZERO sympathy....let me say it again...ZERO.... for him. The man had it made financially and blew it all....as for his knees:nopity:He knew the risks associated with football and thats just part of it....he just chooses to use it as an excuse for being a CRACKHEAD....which all the more causes him to lose what little credibility he has or had. Personally..Im tired of the media even giving him air time....He and Snake need to go to rehab together so that they will have somebody to snivel and whine to.

Wow, really? You have most definitely never played football a down in your life. It's not an 'excuse' to get addicted to pain killers when u have messed up knees or anything else. I'm only 22 years old and have a bum knee and a bum shoulder, I damn near got addicted to that stuff, you become dependent on it. And going from pain killers to harder drugs is not a huge leap. And how did it make it financially, he only played a few years in the pros and injuries did him in. Stop, go on with ur idiotic 'crackhead' bullsh*t comments somewhere else. He made mistakes and has admitted to them and tried to turn hisself around. Not going to court on an old charge was a dumb thing and he'll pay for it. Southern Bama, I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with you on this, but did McCants wrong you in some way? I have had friends that have suffered injuries related to on the job issues, not football, and they have gotten addicted to prescription drugs as well. I guess they assumed the risks of working for a living.
It's sad that this is what makes news these days when a former athlete makes a mistake with the law. I guess those of us who haven't made any mistakes can throw stones at others.

Ive met McCants several times. Once while he was panhandling in downtown BHAM (interestingly enough near a courthouse) Ive also met him in happier times. I dont think some of these people know much history on McCants
