I'd be willing to bet that taking a lot of that part away from the game with transfer and nil is what made up his mind to retire when he did.

He's essentially said so when discussing individual spring evaluations before the 4th Qrt. program. It was still about improving; but more centered on the balance at Compass.

I cant imagine what drives coaches these days, well egos and money, but I mean real coaches who did it for the right reasons

At the highest level? Yeah! Initially though, it was the want and desire to stay involved in athletics. At least that was my reasoning. I wanted to stay involved with athletics and I knew I had a few choices, teach and coach, athletic training or sports medicine. I knew that I could impact young people’s lives the best by coaching.
