šŸˆ NFL Draft Early Entrants -Six from Alabama join a lot of players leaving college early.

I heard on Mel Kipers radio show

I stopped reading ;)

Hey , I will tell you this ; his co-host is Dari noka and all he did was throw shade at Alabama .. saying the dynasty was over and that wasn’t based on his opinion it was just a factual thing and to his credit Mel set him straight but Dari would not concede his OPINION.... had me pissed with some of dari’s opinions , and he just kept beat that horse every chance he got ....

Savion going is bizarre.

At first glimpse it certainly seems that way..... But then when you really look at it, his stock will not get higher - Because he wasn't going to get on the field next season (Barring injury). With Diggs back and Surtain developing into a stud, he just wouldn't see the field. TBH it sure feels like addition by subtraction... Jobe and JAD can be better next season!

TS - I know he wasn't going to start - but like you said, what about injury? A VERY real possibility. And what about COMPETING? Was there possibly a role for him in nickel, or dime? So he goes pro, get drafted in what, the 5th round? How much does that help? Does he have a degree?

Seems like many more reasons to stay than go. Some of these guys want to make at least some money now - but let's say he's a 5th rounder? Teams aren't going to have high motivation to keep him if he's not impressive... and he won't be.

Great points! Of course more depth would have been great, but in terms of "upside" it's going to be better for the D to have Jobe or JAD competing and potentially winning that 3rd spot. Now we will have a couple guys ready the next 3 & 4 years to compete at a high level instead of a 1 year backup/rental who has a tendency to make serious mental errors. I've always had a thing for Jobe but JAD was getting some great reviews before his injury... So it's all good IMO!

Savion Smith has got to be kidding. What round will all this stuff happen? He needs reps and plenty of them. Coming into an elite program after JUCO and struggling when he got here is making this decision very questionable. I just wonder if the thought of being good enough to leave early doesn't create some semblance of panic.

Coach Bryant.........ā€œPeople who are in it for their own good are individualists. They don’t share the same heartbeat that makes a team so great. A great unit, whether it be football or any organization, shares the same heartbeat.ā€

? Are you implying Williams x 2, Jacobs and Irv are also individualist? NFL gives opportunity to take care of family for a few generations to kids who otherwise may have few options. Mack had a subpar season and IMO needed to prove himself again. Simply a bad business decision in my mind but 30 bled crimson while he was here.

Time will tell whom of those on the 2018 version of The Crimson Tide fell into the Me 1st group. Best of luck to them all.

I haven't heard about the status of his injury (is it an Achilles like it looked?), but that, on top of his play, will have teams looking elsewhere. He may catch on as a free agent, but my money would be on his NOT getting drafted.

I haven't heard much about his injury. It's amazing because these kids are supposed to be getting NFL draft grades and coach Saban has mentioned on more than one occasion that the decisions some players make to leave early despite not getting early round projections are frustrating. Savion needs to do it by the numbers. Get his degree, get healthy and get better.

I have NO problem with #4 leaving the program. JMO but I believe he was one of those roll the dice type players Nick will take a chance on every now and then hoping it will turnout for the best.
