| FTBL NEXT YEARS RECORD

If we can try to work in a new qb with JP next year then in 09 the new qb wont be starting cold turkey. Hope that helps. :D
So you want instability in '08 for a little help in '09? Hmmm. Still not making any sense. I've never been a fan of a two-QB system. Especially, if it's McElroy and JPW then it would provide no advantage, as they are both primarily pocket passers. If we had a mobile QB to come in and run, then it'd be different. I guess you could make a case for Star Jackson, but I'd much rather redshirt him and work with his "raw" talent his first year at BAMA so he improves for the years to come.

I do see Saban putting McElroy in alot faster this year in smaller games (assuming we are leading comfortably) to get him more playing time, but I just don't see a rotating two-QB system next season.

I know the big SEC games are all on the road...UGA, Uark, UT, and LSU....But for some reason, I'm not as intimidated by some of those teams next year.

I mean, is Tennessee going to be that good? I don't see it. How about LSU, losing 25 seniors/NFL type players? Sure, they reload, but what if they are working in a new staff? Is Perilloux really their future? Uark will still do what they always do. They will run Felix Jones to death, but thank GOD that Hillis is gone because he's that one guy that you never count on beating you, and always seems to. I think Uark is very winnable, again, possibly working in a new coach. UGA will be unbeatable. I'll give you that one...

But other than that, I am wondering what the fear is? I see Agbarn as a WIN next year. At B-D, working in a new QB, Borges might be gone to be a head coach. Even if he isn't, they still can't do much but run.

11-1. That's my call. Clemson looks very beatable at times. Kentucky will be down. Tulane...Well, after LaMonroe, maybe not

11-1.

Our CNS experienced enough embarrasment for his lifetime this year. There is no way he'll let it happen again. No way never RTRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
You know i sorta think thats an understatement and a half. i think Saban is about ready to crawl under a rock right about now and i cant really blame him im about ready to crawl under a rock myself.

I know Jp wont be qb'n next year but what do you think his roll will be if any? .. backup, maintenance crew, snap holder?

John Parker Wilson will be our starting QB next year. You can put money on that.

Not unless he learns to read coverage. He has the physical tools but I am starting to wonder about other aspects of his game.

He seems to still have alot of high school quaterbacking habits. Not maturing like the flynns of the world. It would seem a miracle for the maturing to begin as a senior. (in no way a flynn fan)

I'll take a little instability in 08 for a solid 09 anyday.. 2009 seems to be the year all Sabans blood, sweat and tears will payoff.
:D
I agree 2009 will be "the" year, but I don't like the idea of "playing for next year". I guess we are both entitled to our opinions. I still think JPW will be our man next year and we won't see a two-QB system. I guess we'll see.

One thing about JPW that I keep in the back of my mind: There have been many, many times when a QB was fair to poor for his underclassman years, and then turn in phenomenal Senior years.

I think of how much Brodie seemed to improve his senior year, and look at Jason Campbell down at Auburn. I will wait to see how this guy looks in Spring camp, and then going into Summer camp. But I know he had a rough, rough junior year, a big step back from his soph season. I know he has the tools to be an exceptional QB, not just decent. Good runner, strong arm (not the strongest), and durability. The guy has taken some hits.

I guess we should think back to the difficulties that Freddie Kitchens had, due mainly to the shortcomings of the OL. I'm certainly not making any excuses for JPW, but one has to consider everything. He will be the guy to beat going into 2008.

No matter what happens next year, I don't want to see us ever ever ever ever ever quit during games like we have in some this year. I can not second guess CNS, but had I been the head coach, I would have probably played these last games without the players that have attitude issues that he has spoke of so much here lately.

If my grandma had nuts she'd be my grandpa.
