Another difference in how teams approach the two quarterbacks, Mariota only faced the blitz on 24% of his snaps while Winston was blitzed 36% of the time.
The way the SEC got utterly dominated yesterday gives me a pit feeling that I did not have before yesterday. I hope it's a matter of Freeze and Mullen not knowing how to prepare their teams for big bowl games.
Ouch.
Last month the Badgers got zip against the Buckeyes... but opening driving against the Barn and they sashay down the field easy peasy and bang out 7.
Yeah, @silvermetalflake If Wisconsin plays Auburn close, what does that mean for us? I'd appreciated the more rational thinkers among weighing in on this.
Intangibles. The same kind that saw Ole Miss and Miss State get seriously schooled in a way no one saw coming. These things are not directly transferable between games, but do give you a moment of pause. Week to week teams are turning things around in ways no one saw coming. Yellow jackets handled easily by Florida in the title game, and then totally dominate former #1 Mississippi State, making them look like a Sun Belt team. That was mental. Now, I'm not saying the Bucks are going to lay down 44 on us like Auburn did.... but the Badgers (#3 rush offense in football) were crucified & shut out a few weeks ago, but are now playing Auburn hard. That's what I mean by intangibles. You never know, man.
Update. Barn just scored 14 -7. Wiping brow. Sigh of relief reaching for the Tylenol.
Wow. Auburn put 44 on us and they can't get it going against Big 10 Wisconsin. I thought Auburn would blow Wisconsin away the way OSU did. College football is so unpredictable. I am not feeling comfortable about tonight.

Big differences though...Alvarez has Wisky focused, unlike Chryst who was probably shopping for homes in Corvalis that week. Also, Wisky had three starting OL out during the OSU game. They lost one earlier today, but the Wisky OL has dominated the barn's DL, esp. in the second half. Gordon and Clement have been running almost at will. That 4th and 1 for a TD, earlier...Wow!
