My opinion, Oklahoma has no reason to stay in the top 2! They had trouble with Missouri, with #5 Florida State, (their only big game) who proceeds to drop to #11, and then #23…

At this rate, Bama really will have to beat LSU (assuming we both go unbeaten) to get into the top 2…

…At least the AP Poll doesn't really matter. BCS will get it right.

I'm not that worried about it because it will be settled on the field when we play them. With that said, how do they gain that many first place votes for beating a team ranked about the same as ours, but giving up 500 yards in the process? I would argue our beatdown of Arkansas was more impressive/complete?

Coming out 4-0 after 4 weeks with 3 of the 4 games being away from home and against ranked teams and not having a struggle at some point is crazy standards. LSU has done a fantastic job coming out undefeated during the toughest month in college football so far. If the polls mean anything, they should reward success at taking on challenges.

LSU looks impressive.

I was at the Oregon vs LSU game, I wouldn't consider it an away game, it was a damn home game for LSU with the amount of LSU fans who traveled to the game.

I stand corrected, although it is a long Tiger Walk from Baton Rouge to Jerry World. LSU should drop in the polls. :lance:

I don't mind seeing LSU as #1. I do have an issue with Oklahoma being #2 when they struggled with Mizz. Our game looked more impressive IMHO.

That being said none of it matters. We just need to focus on Florida and take it one game at the time. If we do that and remain unscathed to make it to SECCG and win we will make it to the big dance. But I could care less. Doorway is all im worried about right now. It will be a tough test and crazy atmosphere in The Swamp.

I'll give them that they've played well away from home, but they tripled their first place votes from this one game alone. 3 games in OU had all the votes, not until yesterday did LSU get them all. If, as you posit, rankings are to mean anything, what was remarkable about yesterday that garnered such a change?

LSU should be #1. Beating Oregon in a (somewhat) neutral location, then going to Starkville and then to Morgantown, they've earned it.

OU is ahead of you guys because they started there. I'd take Bama over OU head-to-head. You won't have to worry about OU being ahead much longer, their days are numbered.

Fact is, I would love to be #3 and LSU #1 come November 5th. While you still have a target on your back ranked at #3, you still have some folks ahead of you that motivate you to play better. Remember the SECCG in 08 verses 09. In each of those seasons the #2 team wins the SEC and goes on to the MNC and wins.

I don't have an issue with how they sit right now. OU is going to be exposed soon enough. The MSU win for LSU is looking less impressive as the season progresses. LSU has looked stout in manhandling Oregon and West Virginia. If things hold the course, Nov.5th will be outstanding!!!

What I don't understand is that my link shows Bama at #2. The USA Today Coaches printed in the Baton Rouge newspaper has LSU at #2 and Bama at #3. Why does the same pole show a different top 3 in two different places?
