Polls don't mean a thing right now. It helps to be in the top 2 or 3 but if most pre-season ranked big name schools just win out, they will be up there. I think LSU deserves to be #1 right now. I would put Bama 2 and OU 3. As far as OU being "exposed", they were exposed in the first Q against Misery. So I guess we'll see which teams can use that exposure and beat Oklahoma. Hey, why don't we just chalk the LSU-Bama game up as the Nat'l Title and call it a season?

What I don't understand is that my link shows Bama at #2. The USA Today Coaches printed in the Baton Rouge newspaper has LSU at #2 and Bama at #3. Why does the same pole show a different top 3 in two different places?

Now I understand. Duh. Bama and LSU are tied at #2 in the Coaches Poll. The Baton Rouge newspaper naturally printed the thing with LSU ahead of Bama.

I would absolutely hate for us to be ranked #1 right now. Too much pressure. Hell, we already have enough as it is, being ranked #3. I feel more comfortable with LSU's players thinking they are better than we are because they are ranked higher.

I just hope we win in the Swamp this weekend.
