⚾ 🥎 NCAA Super Regionals: Bama's season ends dropping GM 3 to Florida

I'm going to chalk this one up to the stupid things people say.

I had someone, trying to be a smart ass with no doubt, make some quip about Bama losing last night. It was a UofSC fan and as tempting as it was to say something about their program all I could do is look at him with an expression that was a little "cock-eyed."

"I hate the loss, but I'd be even more disappointed if they weren't competing for another National Championship."

That encapsulates this season in my eyes. I certainly don't like the end result but I have to pause and think about what I said off the cuff: competing for another National Championship.

Every year we see the softball program doing just that...playing in the end with a shot at another. To borrow a line from Reier, "Consistency in excellence personified."

One more note looking back and the story that was Minnesota and their strength of schedule. Deas pointed out that Bama softball will play at least 21 games next season against teams that are in Super Regional play--to be the best...

i lived in SC for 4 years. i know first hand how dumb those Gamecock fans can be. Im really excited for Demis senior year if she can stay healthy and to see if this juco pitcher they have coming in lives up to the hype she has coming with her. But if they dont learn how to adjust at the plate when teams pitch them differently it will be another disappointing end to the season. Runyan is case in point how they need help hitting. 19 hrs and 80 rbi sophmore season, teams start pitching her outside and around her and she never adjusts at all and gets progressively worse every season after. Hemphill hits 5 or 6 homeruns in the opening weeks of the season and pitchers adjust and she doesnt the power just disappears. Murph needs some definite help in the hitting department

He's far from dumb. He's smack dab in the middle of the group of them that want to be relevant and that's what I think he was after in that conversation...wanting to be a part of it, to be relevant as we were discussing the sport.

I don't know how much exposure you had to Clemson fans when you were in state, but I can tell you it's one of the most insecure fan bases I've seen--after/during a run like this--in my lifetime. A few weeks ago I casually smirked at one saying "defending our national championship."

Now, you want to talk about being "dumb?" He told me I was being semiotical. Yes, semiotical. I don't think I've ever seen a facial expression as funny as the one he had when I asked him what our conversation has to do with Bill Engvall.

What an odd set of breaks (no pun intended) she's had the last two years. When she broke her arm against Mizzou last season ... that's just how the game goes, ya know? But geez, the shot to the face this season? What are the odds?

Have you done any reading up on Gettins? Considering she's getting some of the "hype" from Robert Iamurri I'd say we're looking at a pretty damn good pitcher next season. She's got a drop that's as good as Lexi's rise.
Kiwi!

Ya ive been checking up on her and everything ive seen has said shes pretty damn unhittable most of the time. Heard people saying its one of the best drop balls they have ever seen. I started looking more into her when i saw who her coach was . Kinda like hes pipelining us really good players after Traina and his daughter came here. and i loved watching Ryan while she was here.

I still visit SC a few times a year and have lots of friends that are clemson fans so ya i know where u are coming from on that. They are some of the easiest people in the world to get under their skin when it comes to talking football.

Demi has just had terrible luck but at the same time its like the team just stopped playing once she got hurt and tried to come back to life when she came back. Been awhile since ive seen a teams entire identity depend on one person in or out of the lineup
