Maybe I'm behind on things, but is there now a cap space in college athletics?

In terms of the revenue sharing, yes... $20.5 million per department. The NIL stuff goes on top, and while Deloitte was supposed to be regulating that side, they've had very little impact (and that's putting it mildly). So in that sense... no, there's really no cap, albeit it in a very shady area.

5000 deals not approved seems like a lot until you realize there are 200K D1 athletes.

And even worse when you consider most schools just say, oh ok. Then out the money in an envelope and don’t ask permission the 2nd time.

Deloitte is a mall cop in a war zone.
A guy I know is a pitcher for The Citadel. He's got a little deal with a HVAC company here in town. The check pays his car note ... the financing reminds me of a guy named Travis.

Carroll turned on us in the end, didn't he? Those three recruits from Jax didn't move the needle.
Isn't Julio's Kia place at that corner now? Alabama didn't have a lot of Alabama friends back then...including within the athletic department.

I think his car was red. I can't remember the brand.

The athletic department was halfway between my house and classes...I read a lot in that building. It was quiet.

GA Tech bound
The two back-ups in the title game have both transferred. UM's guy, Emory something, is headed to ECU (Bama's opener next season.) I can't remember the guy at IU who is expected to take over next fall.

I haven't looked at anyone's depth chart for returning players. Hell, Friday was the last day to enter but today is the last day for schools to submit paperwork related to transfers. (State had an OT that wasn't 'announced' until yesterday.) While fans have better idea, no one knows what the rotations will look like when spring camp kicks off.

IU’s transfer QB is Josh Hoover from TCU.
