🏈 NCAA / SEC Transfer portal news.

Ole Miss QB Austin Simmons is expected to enter the portal, per CBS Sports’ Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz.
The kid from Duke, Mensah, is reportedly the highest paid QB last season signing a four million dollar NIL deal. If you look around you've seen some big programs in need of a QB. I don't know what Dante Moore has decided. If he leaves how much is Oregon going to pay for a QB? LSU has said they are spending money. TTU has shown they will (wonder what the kid from Cincy is bringing in?)

Point being ...

We're talking about a few guys staring at five million next season.

It confuses me seeing the catch phrase, "don't marry yourself to a roster." What would be the opposite?

That's crazy.

As loose lipped as college football is, it amazes me we still don't know more particulars about NIL. To me, boosters should be given details.

I touched on Moore a few weeks back in a Ty Simpson post.... Oregon was preparing a huge NIL deal for him to return.... the biggest so far in CFB for 1 season. They had an entire package and plan presented to him, including a big Heisman campaign push by Nike. At first, he was leaning to stay and accept the deal, but has since flipped and supposedly now leans the other way, to the draft (based on feedback of where he will be selected.... spoiler: quickly).

So yes, they have plenty of money allocated for a QB if he jumps, though the next guy won't get nearly what he was offered.

Here's the kicker ... Jet has the pick... @#2 and I don't know if Moore wants to go there.

Who wouldn't want to be the highest paid NIL player in college history and get one more year to roam the streets of a college town? Geez, sounds so simple. Already know the playbook, know how to maneuver the program, it's just easy money. Going Pro and it all gets crazy.

Only risk is NIL being 1 year so if you have a career ending injury the ride is over. I mean 5 million should set a person up for a pretty good financial boost in life but only if you manage it right.
