📝 National Signing Day Thread

I am a little more irritated at the fact two of our five stars dropped to four stars simply due to the Under Armor game. You're gonna sit there and tell me that in one week of practice with complete strangers and an all star game that you're gonna base a decision to doc them points if everything isn't hunky dory? If Barnett and Thompson don't drop, we're number one in Rivals as well. In the end, those rankings don't mean a damn thing, but I still love to win and recognize it. Ferrel just pissed me off a little more this year and I may quit visiting Rivals after ten years of following them.

Talking with a USC fan out here in Anaheim at a bar last night. He kept telling me they were going to have a big pull today and give us a run for the money. I haven't watched it that close leading up to today, so I didn't realize he was on to something. But don't they only have three 5-star guys? Said he coaches high school football and coached against Barnett this year. Said good things about him, but said he wasn't the best QB they faced this season.

Guy I work with knows his HS coach, he coached with him back in the day.

Post signing day drama unfolding in Gainsville!! Seems the DL coach Williams has left for the NFL only after CeCe Jefferson signed on the dotted line. In another twist, CeCe's dad hasn't signed the LOI either. The LOI still isn't in!! How could this play out?

We have an inside with CeCe too, Bo Davis.

Texas 247 site has a picture of Rumph in Alabama attire. :rolf:

Five-star Jefferson unsigned

Five-star defensive end CeCe Jefferson has yet to sign his letter of intent for Florida and his father, Leo Jefferson, explained why on Thursday.

Leo said CeCe himself is not ready to sign it.

CeCe Jefferson announced yesterday he would sign with Florida, but has yet to send his NLI.
"He told me that yesterday after his announcement," Leo said, adding he would have been glad to sign and fax the letter to Florida if that's what his son wanted.

The holdup, Leo said, is because Gators defensive line coach Terrell Williams is reportedly leaving after just one month to accept the same position on the Miami Dolphins staff. Williams will reportedly be replaced by Texas defensive line coach Chris Rumph.

"The Florida staff never told us he was leaving," Leo said. "We don't know (Rumph) at all."

Leo said that the in-home visit with Gators coach Jim McElwain was rushed, they stayed for an hour and rushed out the door to see a 2016 prospect and only talked about the new dorms and the new facilities on the visit. The visit paled in comparison to the other in home visits, according to Leo.

Though Florida is CeCe's "dream school," neither he nor Leo felt good about the Gators staff or the changes at defensive line coach, according to Leo. Leo's wife doesn't want him to go to Florida and both parents felt CeCe should go away from home to grow up and get away from all the Gators fans in Baker County and his friends that might distract him.

Regardless, "if CeCe wants to go to Florida, we are on board," Leo said.

Leo also mentioned concern about Gators athletic director Jeremy Foley being involved in the firing of assistant coaches and how involved he is in the program. Leo doesn't believe that McElwain will have the power at Florida that Nick Saban, Hugh Freeze, Gus Malzahn, Les Miles and others have at their schools.

Leo wouldn't divulge what school he and his wife prefer for CeCe.

"The coaches at Florida wanted the letter signed by 8:30 this morning so they could go on vacation," Leo said. "(McElwain) was only head coach of all the ones recruiting him that hasn't called as of 1 p.m. Coaches from schools CeCe wasn't listing as finalists have all called, but Florida has not called him."

The NCAA prohibits coaches from publicly commenting on unsigned prospects.

Clearly, the Jeffersons aren't impressed with the lack of communication over the defensive line coach change or the recent actions of the staff.

"The staff should have considered being honest with us about the (coach) change," Leo said. "They haven't pursued CeCe nearly as hard as others and I'm not sure why."

Leo added, "they aren't going on vacation anytime soon because we're not sending that letter".

BONE: CeCe Jefferson drama (UPDATE)
CeCe Jefferson, five-star defensive end from Baker County High School in Glen St. Mary, Fla., did not send in his LOI because he heard Florida may lose its DL coach.

Coach Terrell Williams left Florida on Thursday and taking a job with the Miami Dolphins.

Florida has offered former Alabama defensive line coach Chris Rumph as his replacement.

Alabama is still in talks with Jefferson.

Mike Farrell posted the latest information on the UF board moments ago

Ok, Leo, CeCe's dad, called me and explained what's going on. I'll put it in bullet points to be as direct as I can....

-- Leo Jefferson is not refusing to sign his son's LOI

-- CeCe himself is not ready to sign and told his father that yesterday after his announcement.

-- Leo said that if CeCe said to sign and fax the letter to Florida, it would be signed and sent right now.

-- The Jefferson's found out that coach Williams was headed to the NFL from other coaches recruiting him because coach McElwain was calling around looking for a defensive line coach for a week. The Florida staff never told the Jeffersons Williams was leaving. They don't know coach Rumph at all.

-- Leo said that the in home visit with coach McElwain was rushed, they stayed for an hour and rushed out the door to see a 2016 prospect and only talked about the new dorms and the new facilities on the visit. The visit paled in comparison to the other in home visits.

-- Leo is a Gators fan he says, CeCe considers Florida his dream school but neither feels good about the staff or the changes at DL coach. Leo's wife doesn't want him to go to Florida and both parents felt CeCe should go away from home to grow up and get away from all the Gators fans in Baker County and his friends that might distract him. But he made it clear that if CeCe wants to go to Florida, they are on board.

-- Leo mentioned some concern about Foley being involved in the firing of assistant coaches and how involved he is in the program and that McElwain won't have the power at Florida that Saban, Freeze, Malzahn, Les Miles and others have at their schools.

-- He wouldn't tell me what school he and his wife preferred for CeCe.

-- He said the coaches at Florida wanted the letter signed by 8:30AM this morning so they could go on vacation. He said the only head coach of all the ones recruiting him that hasn't called as of 1PM ET is McElwain. Coaches from schools CeCe wasn't listing as finalists have all called but Florida has not called him.

-- He said he doesn't need his "ass kissed" but the staff should have considered being honest with them about the DL coach change and they haven't pursued CeCe nearly as hard as others and he's not sure why.

-- Finally he said "they aren't going on vacation anytime soon because we're not sending that letter".

The end.

IF we were actually finished.

Maybe why the greyshirt is still on Bell? Did CNS and staff know ahead of time....

BONE: Quick note on Bell
Alabama told Christian Bell, three-star defensive end from Hoover High School in Ala., he will have a scholarship in this class if a spot becomes available when all the dust settles. This also includes any possible transfers or attrition.

A source at Hoover also also confirmed Bell has not made a qualifying score on the ACT. Still time on that front.

-- Leo said that the in home visit with coach McElwain was rushed, they stayed for an hour and rushed out the door to see a 2016 prospect and only talked about the new dorms and the new facilities on the visit. The visit paled in comparison to the other in home visits.

-- He said he doesn't need his "ass kissed" but the staff should have considered being honest with them about the DL coach change and they haven't pursued CeCe nearly as hard as others and he's not sure why.

These two stuck out to me the most.

I know I am way way on the outside with this, but I gotta call BS on some of the dad's comments. He's wanting to tell everyone that a brand new coach attempting to salvage a recruiting class only visited for an hour and talked about the new dorms on campus, and that was it? Jim McElwain came to one of the Top defensive ends and Top 25 players in the country's home and only talked about dorms, and then rushed out to talk to a kid in next years class? I think we all on here have a lot of respect for Coach McElwain and don't believe that is how he would handle that situation. I think the dad is just mad with the coach potentially leaving that recruited his son. Anyone else thinking along my lines on this?

Thing I have to question is this. Was Williams a holdover from Muschamps' staff or was he brought in with Coach Mac? If he was a holdover, I could see where the family would be upset with Williams announcing his departure the day after he signed. If he was new, I could see Coach Mac paying a complimentary visit to them thinking that they had little or no shot to keep him in state since they were such late arrivals and thus hope to make in roads in state with the 2016 and future classes.

B.S. First of all one million won't fit in a bag.
th

Auric Goldfinger was seen dropping off that bag. Word is it was gold bars. Jefferson's dad is very intelligent and realized he could turn a million into two million with the way gold keeps appreciating. Rosaland Capital is proud.
