To have such a memorable season of football and with all the individual awards our players earned coupled with a great and - I believe when we look back at it and even though we did finish in the top five by many accounts - the analysts will call it an underestimated crop of recruits, for me at least, the post-Rose Bowl feeling has not been as lasting as I thought it would be. I blame this partly on the media and its incessant penchant to continue to try to equalize the barn and us in every way. Granted the barn had an historic (in their terms) year in recruiting. To win this year and to win in the fashion we did should have sent shockwaves throughout the conference especially in Barn town for a longtime, however with Auburn's recruiting and now the Region stories written everywhere it seems to have moved our "once in a 20-year college football season" story off the front page so to speak. It was just a few years ago that journalists poor-mouthed recruiting as "not a legitimate news story." That was until the barn had such a good recruiting year and now every commit they get has a column written, i.e. The Birmingham News.

How do y'all feel about what I said? Do you feel the same way? Maybe I am giving the media too much credit for being so influential?

Dude, stop the meltdown. AU literally finished 2 spots ahead of us in recruiting according to Rivals and we still finished top 5. Scout and ESPN actually have us ahead of AU. We are loaded and will always be loaded as long as Saban is here. Bama won't finish #1 in recruiting every year and we won't go 8-0 in SEC play every year. It's just not possible.
