Last night was fantastic, the atmosphere was buzzing. I couldnt even hear my gameday radio!

UGA after Peprah's pick! '05 Florida! Please those loud moments in BDS history hold nothing on this game. Tulane players had blood coming from their ears it was so loud.

I did notice the players had some trouble picking up the blitz. I think those defenders that got past our line must be SEC caliber players. Wow! Those guys could beat Clemson.

I am happy with the win, I think the offense was hiding something. Kind of a rope a dope!

We won, electric atmosphere! Alot of ROLL TIDE and high fives after the game. The seats were full, all game. And I mean no one got up! But it was great because they were there to show support!

I blame this game on the school and the fans.

1. School - The pre-game was horrible. All this lets be nice to Tulane and greet them. Okay I get sportsmanship. BUT!

1a. No pregame cheers to get the crowd pumped. band played Yea, and another cheer. No ALA- BAMA from side to side, and no other cheers to get the crowd pumped. Just hey hears the team, be nice to the Wave.

1b. Halftime- My heart goes out to the Stallings family, but as silent as the crowd was in the 1st half. It got even worse 2nd half after the tribute.

2. The fans - We sucked! I stood up 90% of the game, and key times I looked around me and I was the only person standing in any section non student. It was the golf crowd. They cheered after a good play. But when the D needed noice I could hear the cheerleaders. WTF?

2a. Yes we know you dont like JPW, but every sack was not his fault. And if the guy doesnt have time to throw it wont be accurate.

3. And I blame the offense for not showing up.

And in previous years this would have been an L, but we got a W. I'll take it.

We DID do the ALA-BAMA stadium cheer before and during the game. you missed it somehow.

I liked the John Mark Stallings tribute, one of the classiest things I've ever seen the Bama family do. I was probably quieter in the 2nd half than I should've been, but I was nauseated by our inability to keep the Tulane D-Line and backers off of JPW along with the overall poorness of our offensive output. I did get back into the game, but most fans were disappointed in output and quiet due to that. <-- not saying that its right to do so, just a fact.

I agree with most of the rest of your post though.

Just ignore him. We go through this same crap every season. The people in front of me sat the whole game. The crowd wasnt as loud as I wanted it to be. People left the game early. I could go on forever but i think you get the point.

I agree 100%. It's the school & the fans fault the O-line & backs couldn't pickup the blitz or run block.

By the way, Tulane had about 10 fans there and no band, and they moved the ball just fine.

Dude! What the...

I typically dont complain about the fans, but it was bad. I heard the blue hairs around me discussing their local gossip, or what Johnny is doing in school this year. Was this a church social?

Sorry I must have been in the rest room at the ALA-BAMA cheer. But the crowd was not that pumped up. And it was a night game. Sorry after the PR and blocked punt the crowd was in it for a sec.

Yes, Tulane did move the ball well with a small crowd. Thats how it works on the road. Home field advantage usually means the crowd is a part of the game. I still dont think most Bama fans get it. We still have the we will because we are... That doesnt work anymore.

Thanks for your kindness.

Tulane had what six fans there and three band members and they raped our OL. They didn't depend on outside sources or as coach saban likes to preach "outside distractions" to win a game for them.

Players play, coaches coach and fans spectate and cheer. Out of those three which ones have more of a direct impact on the game:?:

The game is won and lost on the field, in the trenches and once again our OL gets "out physicaled" if that's even a word. We're still a mid tier SEC team and until we start doing the things ON THE FIELD that Coach Saban has been preaching we'll stay a mid tier SEC team.

The guy who made this post is 100% correct. If you are not going to cheer your ass off DO NOT GO TO THE GAME PERIOD. The fans are to blame just as much if not more than the players. Why would you boo ur own team, especiall a true freshman kicker? I was also one of the few people standing up, the people sitting around me looked at me like i was stupid. I almost thought they were going to tell me i was being to loud and i was interupting their conversations. Give me a break, the players feed off of the crowd just as CNS said. Im guessing the other people posting in this thread were also the same ones booing the team? Not only that, how do u think Trent Richardson liked our fans booing? Dont be suprised if his commitment gets a little bit softer after this week due to our fans. I bet CNS misses tiger stadium because our stadium atmosphere blew last night.

You experts are absolutely correct. Fans and the emotion of the game have absolutely zero to do with the game.

It was a simple observation, the fans were not into it. Players feed off the emotion of the crowd. Should they depend on it. No, but its football! Not golf, tennis, or chess.

How about you let the coaches worry about that and cheer your ass of when we are on defense. People like you really piss me off.

I've been "cheering my @ss off" way before you where a sperm cell. The fact that we weren't picking up the blitz has absolutely nothing to do with the amount of emotion (or lack thereof) of the fan base. Get pissed off all you want, these are just the facts.

I'm not down on the players or the coaching staff. We got the "W", but our backups on the O-line need to improve. But blaming the fans for our performance on the field is laughable. I was there and saw very few empty seats. If that isn't a show of support then I don't know what is.

First of all what does you being older than me have to do with anything? Cheering for our team and making noise when we are on defense does nothing but help our team on the field, so why would u not cheer?
Booing our team also has a negative effect on recruiting and it should never happen period.

Ohhh, wow play the age card! You've go tme by 2 years. So whats the excuse there? I usually dont critize the fans. Sorry it sucked last night. Worst atmosphere I have ever experienced at a Tide HOME game. Dead silence at times. No that doesnt pick up the blitz or make JPW throw better or make someone break a tackle, etc. But the crowd was blah! Maybe I was spoiled by Clemson last week, my ears were ringing until Tuesday.

I have experienced alot of games, cheering since age 6.

Here I'll edit my original post for you experts on this site.

I wasn't quoting you. If you'll notice in my reply I quoted ACL who happens to be 17. I guess your so defensive you didn't notice.

You must have missed the '06 Duke game.

I think you would have to concede that there is always much more enthusiasm playing top ten team than a CUSA opponent. It's just natural.

HighTide, once again what does u being older than me have to do with anything? Your 38 and im 17 so your opinion is automatically better than mine? Makes alot of sense.

Easy fellas. First off, you are making me feel old! You are making '66 feel older since he will be 42 this week!!

Stick with observations of the game. You can be just as good of a fan at 17 as you can at 67 and so forth.

You're missing the point. You don't have to preach to anyone about "cheering their @ss off", as you put it. Age doesn't matter, you're just "preaching to the converted". You're telling many (some of whom have been fans long before you) that it's our fault the team didn't play well because we (the people)weren't yelling loud enough. Somehow this whole conversation has digressed, but the bottom line is that you want folks to accept that the offensive line would have performed better had we been more enthusuastic, and I'm calling that "bullsh&t".

Now go do your social studies homework (just kidding, don't get mad).

Geez, so now people are resorting to blaming the fans for the team playing on the field?

Last time I checked the real world doesn't involve xbox's or playstations to the outcome of a real game. This isn't EA Sports NCAA 09. Get real. As mentioned, games are won and lost on the field.

Yes it was quiet most of the time last night. Based on the performance, it was expected and what typically happens. Maybe some of you haven't been going to games much in your life to know but this happens naturally, especially with a non-SEC opponent. And if you honestly thought last night was the worst you've been in BDS, then I know for a fact you haven't been to previous games like this. Hell evewn the recent ULM 07 game was way worse than this game as far as fans go. So spare us the crying or finger pointing game and get over it.

On a lighter note, I think besides the performance of the game, the other thing that probably had everyone pissed was the damn costs at the concession stands   . Holy geebus what did everyone do to piss these people off to raise the costs SO much on everything? $4 for a water?!!! $6 for a hotdog?!!

Sorry if this post pisses anyone off but I can't stand seeing threads like this. Rubs me the wrong way.
