My Roadtrip Through the South

I already posted a thread asking for cool places for me to visit throughout the south, so I figured I'd post my current itinerary and see what you guys think!

Chattanooga, TN
Birmingham, AL
Tuscaloosa, AL
New Orleans, LA
Mobile, AL
St. Augustine, FL
Savannah, GA
Charleston, SC

Covering all of this in 10 days. I have visits to Legion Field, the Bear's grave, UA, the Blue Angels, etc etc planned (all thanks to your help, fellow board members!).

Have not planned anything to do in New Orleans so if anyone has any input for that, it would be much appreciated!

Lodging is all taken care of, though I am uncertain about Mobile. I found a place called the Baron's Inn on the bay, it seems to be a decent hostel/hotel mix with private rooms for $27.50/night.

That is a LOT of ground to cover in 10 days, but you will have fun. Baron's in a nice spot, right on the bay in Fairhope by near the public pier. The location is probably better than the luxuries, but for a place to lay your head for a night, I think it should be fine.

In New Orleans, just make sure and stroll down Bourdon Street late at night... you never know what or who you'll see (on a side note, stay out of areas that are not tourist friendly). The WWII Museum is very good. If you have time, enjoy some beignets for breakfast at Cafe Du Monde in the Frech Quarter and a seafood poboy or gumbo from somewhere like Mothers.

Have a fun trip, be safe, and take lots of photos!

For that kind of itinerary I would've thought you would be gone for at least 20 days. Not only for driving time from town to town but also getting around.

I know that the Blue Angels are in Pensacola but don't see that on your trip list. I checked the Blue Angels website and the next airshow around here won't be until July. What did you have in mind with that? If you did head to Pensacola you could go to the Naval Air Museum at NAS Pensacola. I have been there numerous times thru my life.I need to head back out there again and take some pics.

Yeahh it's gonna be crammed but we are spending the most time in Tuscaloosa, New Orleans, and Savannah. Plus my boyfriend loves driving so he will have fun with that haha.

And speaking of him, I left the planning for the Blue Angels on him .. Grr. Guess we will have to catch them another time.
